Ducks invited to play in Europe next season
In this Pierre LeBrun article he tells of the 6 teams that have been invited by the league to play overseas next year:
http://espn.go.com/blog/nhl/post/_/i...harks-coaching
Teams besides the Ducks:
Oilers
Capitals
Sabres
Rangers
Kings
What do you guys think of the Ducks playing over seas again?

They better go, i was planning to be in europe around that time anyways. So getting to take in one of their games while i'm there would be awesome.

I hope we don't go to Europe, seems teams struggle when they go over there.

I don't want us to go, we sucked royally in the 07-08 season after coming back. Burke and his stupid idea to go on the Eastern road trip didn't help though.

Would also sting more if they play in Finland and Teemu retired.

There's probably a strong possibility that they are coming to Finland if they are going to Europe. Therefor, I'm all for it

Though not sure will the Ducks answer the call on this...
Playing in Switzerland is a strong possibilty too...I would say it's 50-50 with Finland.
I believe Jokerit owner (the Helsinki organizers) have Ducks on their list...it's only logical one...maybe Capitals too there are no Finns but russian fans would come because of the near/easy travelling.

Please come back Ducks!
The first time the tickets were sold out before I knew about them coming over, this time it won't happen again.
I wouldn't mind going to Finland or Prague again to watch them, Switzerland, Sweden and London would be nice to go too. Riga or Moscow... not so much.

Another question would we play the Kings, or would people rather see a different team like Buffalo/Edmonton?

As long as they compensate us season ticket holders for a lost game, I'll be fine with them playing a home game in Europe.

Since the Ducks pretty much suck at the beginning of
every season it wont matter too much!

The Europe start seems to screw over most teams. Can we start a petition to send the Kings, Sharks, Stars, Coyotes, Wings and Canucks instead?

This is a very bad idea for the Ducks. Starting in Europe helped with a very slow start last time, and I don't see why it would be any different this time. The jet lag coming back is horrible. It takes me a week to recover, and while the players are young and in great health, it still has an impact upon them.
Playing in Europe at the start of the season is another dumb idea brought to us by GB, and we ought to reject it. However, I suspect that since the team is "invited" it really has little opportunity to reject the idea.

play in Finland and convince Teemu to stay on for ONE more year PLEASE.. 2011/2012
Jagr's european goal scoring record has no chance staying in the books, if Teemu stays one more year.
