DW after his talking to the players earlier this month gave them ten games to get their act together (and then lost the next four, followed by a win last night).
That 10th game will be the 2/1 game.
So, we'll have a good idea after the All Star break which way things might be going for this team.
Don't overreact guys, he's talking about the Sharks conducting a bake sale to cover the salaries of Marleau/Heatley/Joe/Boyle and most importantly Wallin.
Selling could actually BENEFIT us this year AND in the long run.
We sell, i presume that means we rid ourselves of Wallin, Huskins, Niemi OR Nitty.
Losing Just Wallin and Huskins allows us to give Braun and hopefully Petrecki nice long looks in the NHL. They fix our D and maybe we make the playoffs.

Its called Addition by subtraction
Who in their right mind would take wallin, huskins or one of the goalies without further compensation.
Yeah, because they signed Wallin for another year.
The trade deadline is February 28th, I believe.
I think February 1st is too soon of a deadline. They're only three points out of a playoff spot at the moment.
March 2 (a wednesday)

It's likely that DW has his own trade deadline and 2/1 is probably about right based on this article. Why wait until the end of the sale and get leftovers that nobody wants when you buy / deal early and get a better selection of players, etc.
Besides, waiting until the NHL deadline could be to late to save the season and make the playoffs. At this point we're trying to make the playoffs, not just solidify at top seeding with depth for a deep playoff run. Huge difference!

Petrecki is still years away from being an NHL regular. Losing Wallin or Huskins at the deadline wouldn't do anything for him.
My gut tells me we can either over pay for some scrubs that fit under our salary cap simular to what we have done over the past few years. or we can try to find a team willing to over pay for our Scrubs.
