Khabibulin Value

Is it time to consider moving him.
He has a better contract than Kipper and should get a good return.
The Wings are in need of a top goalie with Howard struggling with injuries.
The Lighteneing might consider it for Ellis and a pick
Any thoughts!

he's a 35 plus contract no? So he's stuck on the cap, I dont see much value there

He's worth more to the Oilers than any other team. They would be wise to keep him unless a deal came for a 2nd/3rd round pick.

Oilers are only going to get better through out the years and I feel Oilers can get something valuable back in return to contribute to the rebuild plus I never have to worry when Oilers play Dubnyk, Gerber makes a legit backup for the rest of the season anyhow. Khabibulin is still an awesome goalie, I believe he could be valuable to a contender in the western confernce, look how close it is at the moment  Detroit? San Jose? although Niemi seems to be playing nice as of lately, how about Dallas?? or would Chicago ever take him back? I'm not sure what they were expecting out of Turco, Crawford's stepped up but still, I guess Niemi didn't play any post-season until last season, the Hawks are back though. I think Dallas or Detroit should consider aquiring Nikolai.

He has a 35+ contract. He likely isn't the most coveted of assets.

That contract kills his value, scratch Detroit and Chicago from the list.

Or, we could keep him and not rush Dubnyk and avoid ruining another prospect.

He has two more years left on a 35+ contract. He has no value right now because of the 35+ rule.

Khabiboulin has become a very streaky goalie. He'll look great for a few weeks, and then like a minor leaguer for a few weeks. Even if he wasn't on a 35+ contract, there are other options that are better for contending teams. Khabiboulin isn't going anywhere.

His value is awful. He's basically a gap stop that will allow a team to develop another goalie as his back-up (like the Oilers are currently doing).
