Gudbranson

FLA is rebuilding, but also more inclined to win now. They have quite a few D prospects coming up the ranks in Petrovic, Robak, Garrison, Ellerby plus they already have Kulikov and Wideman is only 27

Having said all that, would FLA consider making a deal to move Gudbranson for some elite talent up front?

Gudbranson and Kulikov they will absolutely keep. They're going to trade him before he even sees NHL action?

If anyone goes, it will be the lesser "up and comers" amongst the D core.

And they are more inclined to win now? I cant see how dealing Gudbranson helps them unless they somehow get a young star defenseman or game breaker forward out of the deal.

thats more or less what I was kind of thinking. Looking at the D corps, they've got a pretty solid group right now. And I agree, Gudbranson will most likely be a stud D for that team. But if he's able to bring in some elite F's to help out up front, especially if they re-sign Vokoun. Just looking at their prospects pool and their current team, it appears to me they could use some serious help up front, and their D and G situations are pretty solid right now as they stand going forward.

It's either one or the other. Right now, Florida is rebuilding, and collecting all the prospects they can.

Gudbranson is not available.

Guds isn't going anywhere. I expect them to work out a contract and him to be in a Panther sweater once his Juniors team's season is over and those things can resume.

the reason why i say their kinda rebuilding but kinda wanting to win is that they have a pretty good pool of prospects, but they are also very close to making the playoffs. if they dealt a good prospect like gudbranson for an elite F(s) and/or prospects they can help assure a playoff berth and could probably make a bit of noise in the east.

by moving just 1 prospect, albeit a huge prospect, they're not completely depleting their prospect pool, and more importantly, their D prospect pool.

FLA can't forever be in a rebuild mode, and they are blessed with solid D prospect pool right now

According to HF standards, he's just about done for.

i know the Leafs are weak at C, but would Kadri+ something small be enough for Kulikov? We have seen how great Schenn plays with Kaberle and with him aging we need a long term replacement.

Gudbranson is the last guy they deal, he is probably the most ready defensive prospect they have... he could play in the NHL right now. I'm sure they'd consider moving prospects that are further away if it got them a better prospect or pick.

But why not just trade one of those other d-men prospects like Robak instead to help get them some forward help? Doesnt make sense to trade Gudbranson with where Florida is at their point in rebuilding. It might've made more sense if they were a bit further along in Tallon's plan. I just dont see Tallon trading Gudbranson before one of the other d-men you listed.

There is no chance in hell that Gudbranson or Kulikov will be traded.

unless it is for a young, stud, 1st line center that is locked up I just don't see it. And I don't see any team looking to move a player like that.

Florida does not trade Gudbransson. Does Tallon trade former first round picks that he picked?

Gudbransson is his first pick ever as a Florida Panther. He is going to rebuild that team the right way and that invovles keeping Gudbransson.

Markstrom
Salak

Gudbransson - Kulikov
Ellerby - Robak
Petrovic - Garrison

Booth - Weiss - Frolik
Howden - Bjustad - Dadonov
Repik - Matthias - Jenks
Birkholz - Shore - Wilson
MacFarland

WOW, i never knew they were that good, only until after putting it all together. That is some elite young talent. Florida will have another strong draft. They will be a force in a few years. That is 13 forwards that could/are top 6 guys.

Yeah, Tallon knows what he's, and he knows how to get great pieces in trades by giving little, he's not going to move Gudbranson. He doesn't have to, zero reason to.

I would give this year's #1 pick for him. I would take Gudbranson over Larsson or Couturier, but so would Florida.

Teams don't trade newly drafted studs.

OP is totally incoherent. Florida is rebuilding but they are going to trade arguably their best young prospect to win now?

Later on he says if they trade Gudbranson for an elite forward or prospects it'll help them make the playoffs?

Oh boy..

Hodgson + Schneider for Gudbranson + Markstrom

Assuming Vokoun leaves Florida gets to upgrade in goal and deal from
Their deep d prospect pool.
