It says "experienced, high energy forward" for 3rd/4th lines - how is that Cogliano?

what if those scouts that were spotted at the TB games weren't looking at D (like we're fixated on) but for a checking line forward instead?

Adam Hall:
  • 600k cap hit, age 30, pending UFA
  • 472 NHL games, 31 playoff games
  • 2nd on TB among forwards with 2:35 SHTOI/g
  • DW bait: US college alum (MSU), late playoff round experience (17GP for SCF '08 pens)
  • positive influence in shootout (not playoff-relevant but would tie Boyle for 3rd on SJ going by behindthenet)

other pending UFAs on the older side from Eastern teams:
Craig Adams (PIT) - minor member of the '09 pens AND '06 canes? DW can't resist.
Ruslan Fedotenko (NYR) - '04 bolts, '09 pens
Radek Dvorak (FLA) - two SCFs ('06 oilers, '96 panthers)
i have no sense how expendable these guys are considered by their teams, however.

He just loves the guys with stanley cup rings and stanley cup finals experience. If you're a bottom pair dman or a 3rd/4th liner and have either one of those, you have a chance to be on the Sharks as long as DW is GM. I'm sure he would target the 1st/2nd liners and top pairing dmen but those are usually untouchable so he's going with the next best things. The hiring of McLellan was kind of like that too, Babcock, multiple Cup winning coach with lots of finals experience, untouchable, so DW went for the next best thing in McLellan.

but i really wouldnt be surprised if it's Ruutu coming...DW has trading histrory with Ottawa, obiviously, but he also brought in Nieminen at one point as well to do similar bottom line work...also DW has a couple Fins in his dressing room already

I would be surprised if Murray would want to trade with Wilson after the Heatley trade.

It's likely one of three guys if it comes true. Adam Mair, Zenon Konopka, or Jarkko Ruutu. I'm going to bet on Konopka due to his junior team alone being the Ottawa 67's. lol
