GM Game #6 by Ktown, RR, and IR4

READ THE RULES.

And make sure you have your roster & cap info posted in the roster thread!

Commissioners

Game Schedule

  • Trade Deadline: Saturday 1/22 7 PM
  • Standings Votes: Saturday 1/22 7 PM - Sunday 1/23 1 PM
  • Quarterfinal Voting: Sunday 1/23 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM
  • Semifinal Voting: Sunday 1/23 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM
  • Conference Final Voting: Sunday 1/23 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
  • Stanley Cup Final Voting: Sunday 1/23 8:30 PM - 10:00 PM
  • Entry Draft: Tuesday 1/25 7:00 PM
  • Free Agency Begins: Wednesday 1/26 6:00 PM
*All times EST, and subject to change

Salary Cap
  • The salary cap from the trade deadline until the end of the playoff voting is $59.4M.
  • Teams may have no more than a 23-man roster by the end of the game.
  • Any player that is currently injured but is expected to return by the time the trade deadline approaches may be used on your roster.
  • We will be using Daily Cap Hits from CapGeek to find our players pro-rated cap hits.
    1) When acquiring a player via trade, multiply the player's daily cap hit by 42 (the # of days remaining in the season at the trade deadline). This is what counts against your team's cap number.
    2) When trading a player away, multiply the player's daily cap hit by 144 (the # of days before the trade deadline). This is what counts against your team's cap number.
    3) It could get complicated for some, so PM a commissioner if you have any questions or if you need the calculations to be made for you.
  • The salary cap for the 2011-2012 season will be announced at a later date.

Waivers/Buyouts
  • Post in this thread if you'd like to place a player on waivers.
  • Each team has the option of sending down 1 player with a 1-way contract to the minors (or Europe) due to cap reasons and only 1 buyout will be allowed per team.
  • The lowest team in the standings in real life gets highest waiver wire priority.

Trades
  • All trades must be sent to IslesRock4 and RR or else they are not valid.
  • Once a trade is agreed upon, send it in BEFORE POSTING, and then you can announce it in the thread. A deal without a NTC or NMC does not have to be approved.
  • If a trade is announced prior to it being sent in, it will be vetoed.
  • ALL MOVES MUST BE SOMEWHAT REALISTIC. Washington will not trade Ovechkin, Pittsburgh will not trade Crosby, etc. The commissioners hold the power to veto any ridiculous trades.
  • A trade involving a NTC or NMC must be sent in by BOTH GMs with a reasoning for the player to waive. The trade must be approved by BOTH trade managers prior to posting. Keep in mind it will only be on a rare occasion that a NTC or NMC is waived.
  • If a trade involving a NTC or NMC is announced before approval, it will be vetoed.
  • If a team does not have enough cap space to complete a trade that has been sent in, the trade will be vetoed.

IMPORTANT :

-Send offers and not inquiries. You will not get an answer if there is no offer made in your PM.

-Send serious offers. If you start with a lowball offer, it will be hard to convince me to negotiate before July 1st.

-Don’t get angry if you want to retain an UFA and he decides to wait after the season or even to test the UFA market on July 1st. Most UFAs will be in this situation. If you can provide me a link saying that the player would like to be back with your team, it might be easier to negotiate. I will use my own opinion if there is no link.

TRADE BLOCK

ON THE TRADE BLOCK (looking for young roster players, prospects and picks in that priority) :
-Ryan Miller (LNTC, 8 teams he would accept a trade to)
*Already three teams have expressed interest and we have two solid offers (nothing imminent). We want quality assets but we also want an enticing main piece in the offer (young player with huge upsides or something similar in terms of value).
-Thomas Vanek
-Jason Pominville (LNTC, 8 teams he would not accept a trade to)

ALSO ON THE TRADE BLOCK (looking for pick(s) and/or prospect(s) :
-Tim Connolly
-Jochen Hecht
-Paul Gaustad
-Drew Stafford
-Mike Grier
-Rob Niedermayer
-Cody McCormick
-Craig Rivet
-Jordan Leopold
-Shaone Morrisonn
-Steve Montador
-Andrej Sekera

PM!

We currently like where our team is and will not be making deals just for the sake of making deals. Our main interests right now is a top of the line starting goalie (Miller, Vokoun, Bryzagalov...etc) and a veteran forward presence.

At the moment we have Dan Carcillo, Jody Shelley, Matt Walker, Michael Leighton, and Matt Walker on the trade block.

We will only consider trading Jeff Carter and James van Riemsdyk if the return is too much to pass up.

Carter will most likely not be moved due to his newly signed extension.

My organization is also hesitant to move our first round pick but in the right deal we may consider moving it.

PS. I am currently dealing with some personal issues so please give me proper time to respond if we are in trade discussions.

may have already made a splash on the trade front, pending approval.

Sharks GM Modo confirmed that the team will not be too busy as the deadline approaches, as we like the way our team is built.

Pens looking for a top-6 winger with skill, preferably a righty shot. We can take on a cap-hit of around $4M, but we want good bang for our buck.

Dupuis, Rupp, Godard would likely need to be moved in the deal to make room, but we have plenty of picks/prospects to make it worth your while.

On the Block
Kaberle - For the best packaged offered
Beauchimen - 1st round pick or top 6 forward
MacArthur - Best prospect or pick offered
Gustavsson - High end prospect or will package for a forward
Gunnarson - Only will be dealt in a package deal or for a top 6 forward
Sjstrom - pick or prospect
Giguere - Could be a good option for a team looking for a goalie going into the playoffs. Looking for a mid round pick or prospect

Leafs acquire big winger Ryane Clowe

Clowe will come to Toronto and play on the opposite wing of Phil Kessel. We are happy to have Clowe, he will be a big body presence and make the game a little hard for opposition defensmen. Leafs are sick of having a soft top line, so hopefully this will create a little more space for Kessle

Going the other way is Beaucihmen and Matt Franklin

Minnesota will be heading into a bit of re-build, and we're looking add depth to our prospect pool. That being said, Everyone with the exeption of Mikku Koivu and Mikael Granlund is available for the best offer, and Brent Burns, Niklas Backstrom and Pierre-Marc Bouchard will be difficult to get. I'm dead serious about Mikku Koivu. If you inquire of send an offer about him, you won't get a reply.

Our Roster will be up shortly.

Isles are placing their 1st round pick (likely top 3) on the block if we can get a quality player that is mid-late 20s.

Again?

We've been over this and over this, I don't want Matt Franklin!

San Jose confirms this deal.

Quick question: Does San Jose now hold the rights to Wellwood and Eager, or are we ignoring that for this game?

The announcement came before the beginning of the game. They're yours.
