Offering just Fleischmann for Regehr, if that's true and is what was offered..well..that's some HFBoard quality proposals right there.

And you can keep sippin the hatorade man, Kessel is still outscoring your top guy and Grabovski is tied with him.

Remember at the time Calgary were even lower in the standings and were struggling to score. Can't blame McPhee for checking if this was something that would work. When not, he moved on and found his guy somewhere else.

That some find this to be evidence that McPhee is a poor GM is just

Not hating, just get tired of ignorant remarks. GMGM may not be the best gm but he is far from the worst.

And yes be proud that your best two players are tied or barely beating ours in their down season. 16 pts in the standings also says something when the caps are having an abysmal year on the offensive side.

Yeah, GMGM is a chump. Most GMs get much better draft results than Kuznetsov at 26, Carlson at 27, Johansson at 24, Orlov at 55, Eakin at 85, Varlamov at 23, and Neuvirth at 34. What crappy picks.
And his trades? Oh man, nobody would ever trade a stay-at-home, veteran, former all-star defenseman for Tomas Fleischmann. That trade proposal is just ludicrous.
It's no wonder the Capitals have no future at all and are dwindling at the bottom of the league. The other GMs made him a finalist for the NHL GM of the Year Award as a joke last year.

Yeah, god forbid he checks around to see what kind of interest other teams have in his players.

Why don't you compare what Grabo does in the faceoff dot and with takeaways then compare that to Backstrom? Maybe you will see why your team loses.

Caps GM was trying to get a better deal. How is that doing a bad job? That's doing a good job.

Is there a person more out of the loop than Globe and Mail writer "Allan Maki"?

He's writing his article on the premise that people actually think Darryl Sutter DIDN'T deserve to be fired... And then following up that assumption with the second equally stupid assumption that we should be mad at him for not trading Regehr for Fleischmann.

This is the first and only thing I've ever read from this guy but it's enough to convince me he knows nothing about the NHL or hockey.
