Being that Cammelari is going to be out for a while, wonder what Moulson would fetch. 30 goal scorer, would fit perfect with Gomez and Gionta. Not the best skater but plays well with playmakers. I say Isles should get a B prospect, what do you guys think.
You know what, I think the Isles could fetch something real nice. Snow is probably done with picks, he needs bodies. Canadiens would be perfect for him. Especially with Camellari not knowing when his return is. I dont know about many of their prospects either but it has to be a player that is close to breaking the lineup. Maxwell is a nice player, wouldnt mind adding him. Lets see what Snow does, Canadiens and Islanders have traded in the past and for the Wiz this season. You also have to remember that Moulson is good bang for the buck for what he does. I think he gets 3.5 this season. The Pens, and definitely one of those Western Confrence teams that almost all are in the playoff picture would be interested. I know Isle fans dont want to get rid of him but if he is going to test the market Snow has to ship him. Snow wins no matter what, we got this guy for nothing and he turned into a nice player.
I thought the isles fans are all convinced he will sign a contract extension?
With the lack of information that comes out of the front office, and the pathetic media coverage, you should doubt the credibility of Islanders fans who are convinced of anything other than that the Islanders are not likely to add much salary or impending UFAs of any stature.
Nobody knows whether Moulson will be signed or traded. Nobody will know, because nobody covers the friggin' team.
I was convinced the Isles wouldn't trade a reliable goalie for a B-level prospect, only to rely on the Rick's hips and knees and a couple of rookies. But the Isles did.

Moulson is a body. Seriously, unless the Islanders and Moulson are far apart, there's no trade that will make much sense for this team unless they are getting a similar player in return. Who's going to give us a 30 goal scorer back for Moulson? That's right, no one.
A B level prospect - hell, any prospect - is just treading water for this franchise.
just for the info, tell me how much good is Moulson defensivly?
He's occasionally been on the PK here. Not bad defensively, certainly not a liability. Doesn't shy away from contact either.
I can't understand any reason to trade this guy. The team needs to spend money, so spend it on this guy, he wants to stay. He's a gem with JT and is good for 25 goals a season at this rate.
4 years, $3.5 million/year. He's earned that contract.

Well I remember seeing Isles fans say the same thing about Wisniewski...

What - during the first 4 or 5 games of the season? Even the Isles posters who were favorable toward Wiz realized he was defensive liability being forced to take on top-pair minutes in Streit's absence by the end.
Wiz won us over with a huge hit on Benn, and then again with the gesture to Avery. But all that good feeling slowly eroded over the first half of the season. I think he could have had a solid place in the Isles lineup with a healthy Streit, but it just didn't work out that way.

Just because he can't understand it, doesn't mean the Islanders won't do it. Lots of Isles fans can't understand why they're shedding what few contributors we had (Wisniewski, Roloson), and, yet, the Isles do it.

We were all saying how bad Wiz was on defense once the losing streak began.

Well I remember that alot of trade proposal have been made for Wisniewski and Isles fans were saying that he would not be trade, because he was their number one dman right now and they wanted he would be re-sign.
Also remember that the two player are in the exact position (good contributor, UFA, having a good season, around the same age) only difference is one is a dman and the other a forward.
if thats his asking price/demand, then i hope garth signs him and ends the silliness. BUT,3.5 is the max. if he wants anything over that, id want a pretty signifigant return, as in a mid 20s nhl ready forward and a second rounder.

Give him whatever the **** he wants. We need him to stay, and it's not like we're losing out on cap space.
