Seto for Pitkanen doesn't make sense considering Joni is a pure rental, and cap space.

Here's a deal that could make sense for both sides, also considering Sharks cap space issues (And Carolina having tons of cap space):

Petrecki (And/or Braun, since McBain would replace Braun in Sharks org chart)

Then the Canes get Seto and 1st which is very nice, and also Petrecki who could pan out, and the Sharks get:

Demers-Murray
Wallin waived and sent to AHL until playoffs

Potentially a Cup contending blueline. While Pitkanen is a rental and may not resign, McBain would be under Sharks control for a while.

Intriguing as he's the type of player the Sharks need, however their need for Clowe is huge too.

It would take a large overpayment to get Clowe, something the Sharks couldn't refuse (see: Kessel deal)

Nothing. I'd do Greene for a 3rd as Devils fans suggest, as long as they take Huskins too, which I think they would to help this deal happen.

Non-desperate POV, Seto is a gross overpayment for any rental. Consider Wisniewski only cost MTL a second and conditional fifth. Knowing that, it would be more efficient to grab Martinek (21:00 Min/GP) off NYI for a second or thrid.

For Seto to be included, any pending UFA would have to be part of a package, or the returning d-man would have to be either under contract or no worse than a pending RFA.
