I present to you the original guardian project concept that existed until Boomer was shown the door!

That is almost exactly what I pictured when I first heard of this project. Except the robot was also Boomer.

Apparently it has something to do with pre-teen boys, imaginary weapons, and phallic symbols. If that's not it, I have no clue.

They lost me when I realized Megan Fox wasn't involved in the project.

I saw "The Red Wing" and thought... odd, the guardian of motor city can't even afford a motor for that "bike" he's riding...

Then I saw "The Blue Jacket" and thought... hey! he could borrow "The Red Wing's" bike and transform into Boomer! (you know, since this is megatron and all)

LoL

This is all amusing. I'll be more excited after the all-star game to see the final product.

That's pretty much it. I think it is an attempt to get dorky pre-teen boys (and for that matter grown men) who spend their time primarily at comic book stores buying action figures to consider watching sports. Not sure how successful that endeavor is going to be but if it is, we could be on the cusp of a new Golden Age for society.

Here's a pretty good "insight" to what The Guardian Project actually is.... you're on the right track though.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puc...urn=nhl-310128

Although the idea of having the teams "guardian" involved with arena activities and reacting based upon how the game is going, I think, would be pretty cool. Also, a hologram projection of him on the ice in pre-game "firing the canons" with Stinger at center ice after the flag is planted would be cool too.

Unless I somehow missed it, I'm very surprised at no mention of the new Ice Crew uniforms. That's at least as important as some comic book hero stuff!

Here's an idea for the NHL for marketing....get on a real network and dont black out fans on Mondays and Tuesdays from watching their team and not the Ranger/Pens/Wings/or Caps

i know, crazy talk

The posters say watch them come to life during the All-Star Game...is there going to be an animated short or something?

Yes a new blue and a new sponsor. Bye-bye Coors, hello Miller Lite. Is Miller beer even sold at the arena? Not a beer drinker and the wife drinks Labatts.

As an aside when concessions stopped selling Labatts a few years ago, she called customer service and raised hell. I think they brought it back the next season

Miller Lite is sold at Masonwide. I have two or three to cool down after a tough 60 seconds of work every night.

If it were me, I'd do my drinking before the singing just so I could get through it without doing an Enrico Palazzo (or perhaps that's how I'd sound after the beers ).

Captain Planet was huge. A legend in his own time. Beware speaking ill of a man with a powerful green mullet. Also don't litter.
