That is just plain false. There were tons of fans on HFBoards saying that it wasnt an accident.

Zero. Unless you think that's a valid explanation for the slew of teams that have had more injuries than the Habs.

http://springingmalik.blogspot.com/

And our defense gets bombarded every night? They're 14th in shots against. 24th in shots blocked on the road (which is the better indicator than overall blocked shots).

So how exactly are they getting bombarded? Are other teams shooting harder against the Habs?

You want to know the real explanation for the Habs' injury woes? They've suffered an average (maybe even below average) number of injuries but to one specific part of their team, the defense. They basically have to play with an AHL caliber defense at the moment. And any team that has to play with an entire unit that is minor league caliber, whether it be offense, defense or goaltending, is going to suffer.

And why are all of our injuries on D? Chance. Yes, chance. Did the Habs suffer as many injuries to their defense last year when they were allowing far more shots and playing far worse hockey? No. So why would a team that went from -4 shots for/against last season to getting +3 this year suddenly start suffering injuries on defense?

Chance.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not but I'd be tempted to say NONE

To me it looked like freak-show accidents or players aggravating old injuries (some via gentle lovetaps)

We've had a lot of badluck with injuries before, but never have I seen the same position being plagued with so many injuries before. That's unbelievable.

If Wiz can't play sunday, I think Gill is gonna be a warrior and come back earlier.

Yup if Gionta was 6'2" Wisniewski wouldn't have gotten that puck in the face.

I want to make the playoffs and by looking at this picture I say if he does have a broken bone, it has to be a fractured cheek bone. Either way if he is out for 4 weeks we're in trouble. Trading for a defenseman like Phillips isin't going to help us in the next few weeks with 4-5other guys out. I'd rather hang on to our picks/prospects and make a run next year.

I'm a little confused as to why Wisniewski needs to be out a month if he has a fractured cheek, and can't just wear a full mask or whatever its called. Isn't that protection enough from injuring it further? Anyways, just throwing this out there...

Now that is just great. As if the Habs didn't have it bad enough already. Poor Wiz, that cut looks pretty bad. Whatever the injury is, be it a fracture or a broken bone, I hope he recovers well.

IF Wiz is gone, still unconfirmed, and the Habs wanted to call up Carle b/c he is RH, would he have to clear waivers? Anyone know?

According to this, Carle doesn't have to clear re-entry waivers. But he does have to clear to be sent down.

I think Lavoie know about the fracture but he speculate on the 4 weeks like he always does

exactly what I'm saying, I don't see the Wiz missing much. The only way I see him out long term if he had a concussion but he didn't

According to Andi Bennett on team 990, Gill and Cammy look like a go for Sunday. At least a little good news today...

They get physically bombarded every single night, and I'm not sure how this is even an eye-raising question I proposed.

Hard to argue with those cold, hard facts.

Counter: No, they don't get "physically bombarded" any more than your average team.

Unless the impact caused a concussion for Wiz, I think he would be able to go with the full mask.

Day-to-day at worst is my assumption.

You may be correct. According to Stubbs: "Wiz resting in bed, not at practice. He'll skate tomorrow, not out of Sunday game yet"
