Tony Marinaro is a respected and respectable member of the Montreal media, teeming with credibility, always makes insightful points concerning the Habs that are not at all obvious, possesses an excellent wit and a knack for brilliant comic timing and delivery. In short: fun, funny, funky, and hip -- he's hip. If his body of work were, in actual fact, a body, it would be rigid, toned, limber and richer than you and wearing wraparound shades.

That would keep everybody busy!
Journalists - through la Fédération Professionnelle des Journalistes du Québec - have a ethics code to follow. I'm not sure radio hosts are bound to that though.

The media (not only the sports media) does a certain effort to auto-regulate itself. But ultimately, it is up to readers, listeners and so on to make their choices and to determine who's credible, who embodies professionalism and who doesn't.

Looked in pain after he blocked that Darche shot, had a hard time getting up but was sure it was just a stinger. Anyways hope he is alright since we can't afford losing a top 6 forward right now

Injury update per TSN.ca:
http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=360366

Quote:
Montreal Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty was back on the ice at the team's practice facility in Brossard on Friday, just over three weeks after fracturing his vertebra and suffering a concussion.

Pacioretty joined teammate Andrei Markov and strength coach Pierre Allard for a 20-minute skate in full equipment, just days after beginning off-ice workouts.

"It is part of the protocol, it's the beginning of his rehabilitation," said coach Jacques Martin.

Pacioretty suffered the injury when he was slammed into a stanchion by Boston Bruins defenceman Zdeno Chara at the Bell Centre on March 8. The NHL did not punish Chara for the hit, which caused an uproar in Montreal where police launched a criminal probe into Chara's actions.

Defenceman Jaroslav Spacek also practised for the first time since suffering a knee injury that required surgery on March 4. He will continue practising and will travel with the team to New Jeresy but will not play Saturday night. Martin hopes to get Spacek back for at least one of the team's final three regular-season games next week. He's missed 11 games since the injury.

Forward Jeff Halpern skipped Friday's practice for a therapy day and will not travel with the team; coach Martin saying his condition is day-to-day.

The Canadiens face the Devils in New Jersey on Saturday, holding the sixth playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with a 41-30-7 record and 89 points.

I thought this was an April Fool's joke by Team 990 - did anyone else hear that today?

Markov and Patches skating?

It's no joke. Martin says in the video and in the article that it's protocol for the beginning of rehab to skate on their own. Martin is hoping to have Max practicing by mid april.

Not a problem at all. Halpern is not 100% and is not effective right now.

The best scenario is Pacioretty coming back and playing in the AHL play-offs.

What difference does it make if he plays in the AHL playoffs or NHL? If the worry is that he might aggravate a symptoms.. I don't think playing in the AHL is going to prevent anything.

I don't see Patches ever going back down to the Dogs. That ship has sailed.

Sending him down to play in the AHL playoffs would be absolutely stupid and moronic.

Let the kid heal until next season, it's safer this way

I'd like to get him back on the ice and see his confidence re-inserted, able to play after the traumatic injury.

And we won't be in the NHL play-offs for very long, so better have him play hockey in the AHL then sit all off-season if he's ready for game action.

I don't think he's on their Clear day list.

He has nothing left to learn in the AHL and healing&resting for next season would be far better than risking an injury in some pointless games (sorry for bulldogs fans).

Did Halpern travel to Ottawa? I guess it's time to update this thread since Spacek is back.

Spacek is back today. I don't think there is any understating how much this helps us. I'm guessing Mara sits?

I believe his gf is Afinogenov's sister isn't she? A tennis player/former tennis player?

Great to hear Patches is out and doing well. Did you give him a thumbs up?!

Not to derail the injury thread but here is a thread on her on the Buffalo board a couple years ago.
There is a pic of her as well. Patches did very well!
