Yeah my thoughts aswell, this means Halpy is out for awhile, also ppl underestimate the offensive capability of Engqvist.

Hmm, surprising.

I'm guessing more recalls will be made by Friday.

As long as we dont use Picard as 4th line winger! lol
Pouliot was sick yesterday a few forget (No im not saying you did). Wasnt in lineup. Will look like this probably.

Eller-Plekanec-Kostitsyn
Pouliot-Gomez-Gionta
Pyatt-Desharnais-Darche
Moen-Enqvist-??Callup??

I see the Callup as Ryan White... IF Halpern is out.. No Official word on Halperns injury but if he is, Whites a winger i would see White with Engq and Moen

... It is entirely possible that the Habs ice 7 D-Men (not talking about Weber or Picard being a 12th forward -- reallly, seven 7D's), at least for a game.

Some people following the Bulldogs could perhaps say his level of play ? Perhaps we can dream of becoming our Franzen

Also looking at the lineup it could be a nice time getting a guy like clarkson who could help the third line, hell even the second line.

I'm thinking;

Kostitsyn - Plekanec - Eller
Moen - Gomez - Gionta
Pouliot - Desharnais - Darche
Pyatt - Engqvist - ??? (Picard/Weber/Call-up)

I fully expected it to be Engqvist. Guessed that halpern was injured, pleky would lose his arms with all the draws he would have to take with halpy out.

Neither.

He has good hands, good skating ability, good vision, his speed is pretty good, hes excellent on D, a solid PKer, among the best in the AHL. I see him abit like Radek Bonk

I'd rather have Weber and Picard on D (so the other one gets as little icetime as possible) than having one of them on the wing.

If they didn't call up 2 forwards tonight I guess they are gonna play 7 d, or maybe halpern isn't out long term

By the way, I don't think he'll play. Knowing Martin, he will play with 7 defensemen.

To replace Halpern. Wow, i'm really happy about this. I haven't seen any Hamilton games this year, but this must mean that Engqvist is playing a solid two-way game. Injuries always suck, but a part of me always gets excited to see the young guys get called up, especially someone's who a big body.

If Martin plays 7 D-Men and doesn't play Engvist, it makes only 17 skaters.

1. Because Halpern is hurt.
2. Because he just returned from a serious knee injury 3 weeks ago or so.

It should be:

Eller Plekanec Kostitsyn
Pouliot Gomez Gionta
Moen Maxwell Desharnais
Pyatt Engqvist Darche

Maxwell plays center and could make his mark this time coming in.

What's his percentage on Faceoffs?

Or anyone have good AHL stat links? Hockey lags bad in stats for lower leagues for us baseball junkies who need to know..

I'd really have Eller, Desharnais and even Pyatt as a center before I'd prefer Maxwell to Palushaj, unless Maxwell knows it's last call.

If U want to see Engqvist at his best, watch the highlight reel ffrom the 7-0 blowout last night on the Hamilton thread. Engqvist for being such a defensive type goes to the net real well.
