Oh gawd. Just when he gets going. So our luck. So many times a player gets going they get injured (Higgins)

OH GAWD. This means Allen will get even more ice time

No, it was PDB's benching that got him going. Contrary to popular belief, things that the coach does actually work. He's injured.

Garrison might miss the game, as well; according to Harvey Fialkov, he re-tweaked a groin injury in last night's game.

Fine, he should be benched for a game or two anyway. Maybe it'll bring the same result benching Kuli did.

This is terrible. Kulikov has been playing reasonably well.

If he's hurt, the Panthers might throw away the game in the second period instead of waiting until the third.

If Kulikov and Garrison are both out, since McCabe's also out, we're talking about a VERY weak defense. I trust most of you have seen the criticisms about our defensive prospects in Rochester...and Callahan is seen as one of the problems.

So who've we got now? Allen, Wideman, Weaver, Ellerby...then Callahan and whom? They'd have to call someone else up. Wilson? Robak? It won't be Comrie since he's on a 3-game suspension from the ECHL and the Panthers are honoring it even in the AHL.

Then what's Rochester's D going to look like? They won't have anyone.

With Callahan already up to replace Kuli, Florida's options to replace Garrison would be:
Caruso
Wilson
Fast
Baier
Robak
Kostka

Of those, Wilson has 28 points and is -11, Kostka has 28 points and is -3 (they're 2nd and 3rd in Amerks scoring, btw, no wonder the team's struggling), Robak has 14 points and is -8, Caruso has 8 points and is -5 (and has had a reputation for several years as a horrible defenseman), Baier has 6 points and is even +/-, and it doesn't look like Fast has even played a game. Don't know why he's listed on the roster still.

So, basically, the Panthers don't have a reliable defensive unit until Kulikov and Garrison come back, and Rochester will be somehow even worse.

I forecast a disaster prediction coming up in the next GDT...

If Garrison doesn't play, Wilson will play in his place. It's on GR's blog.
For what it's worth, I'm not sure I understand why Callahan is ahead of Wilson on the depth chart, in the first place.

PDB benches guys that shouldnt be benched and plays guys that shouldnt be playing. His junior coaching attitude at the NHL level is a problem. These are professionals, not kids. Well, some kids. He shows no emotions, and makes excuses for everything. Its time he start acting like an NHL coach. When I first saw the headline that Kulikov was out tomorrow, I immediately thought PDB scratched him because of some ******** reason, even though he's been on fire lately, so Im relieved that wasnt the reason he's out.

I don't see all of the issues with Allen everyone is talking about. I find him to be a solid defensive guy on the back-end.

This is absurd. You'd rather have Kulikov be injured?

Please reflect on the ridiculousness of your statement.

What are you talking about? Every player he has benched so far has upped their game majorly.

He meant what I immediately thought and posted.. That pd benched kuli ( perhaps due to ot penalty) and that's why he wasn't playing. Not ridiculous at all.

This post doesn't even make sense.

He posted that he was relieved that Kulikov was injured, not benched. Thats absurd.

Why on earth would you be relieved your teams player is injured? I don't care what the context is, thats ridiculous to say. You guys are taking this way too far with the PDB scapegoating.

I'd assume Southern Hockey is referring to NJ's feeling of alleviation that it was an injury and not PBD's benching.
Not to mention that DeBoer's benchings tend to be completely sensible.

Well if he was " alleviated " that would be silly; if he wasn't sure why he was out that's understandable.

You understood the statement wrong. I dont hope any of our players get injured. Thats ridiculous. I said I was relieved to hear that he is out because of a reason (injury) and not some ******** excuse from PDB. An injury is a legitimate reason to not play. He's injured, he's out. I have no problems with that.
