It would be quite Ironic if Prospal returns on the 17th. I'll still concerned though.....

When is the trade deadline?

If nothing else, Prospal returning has a chance to help our power play/ playoff run/ possible play in playoffs from a fresh guy.

I'm not gonna anticipate a return, but it would be an unexpected bonus.

I had pretty much written off Prospal returning this season, but after that interview last night I have some audacity...

Regarding the power play, I wonder if anyone in the press has noticed the correlation between Vinny's absence and the very poor power play this year. I've been a fan of Vinny before dirt was invented, so take this with a grain of salt, but it seems like last year, even when he wasn't getting points on the power play, he was making plays that lead to goals......

Gosh Darn it! I was resigned to the fact that Vinny would not play anymore, and now this slight hope.......................

If I was the Rangers, I would seriously think about sitting both Prust and Girardi for the next 2 games to allow them to get fully healthy. It will suck for those 2 games but it would give them a full week off where they can rest and get 100% healthy. It will pay dividends in the 2nd half.

2008-2009 29th overall
2009-2010 13th overall
this year 23rd overall

I respectfully disagree that 13th overall is crap.

Dang, add me to the list, I just broke a bone in my hand hitting return while posting to hfboards! Now the posters are dropping like flies...bummer, now I am going to have trouble executing the wraparound...

This rash of injuries will end eventually, I remember thinking how relatively injury free we were most of last year. Major props to Torts keeping the group together and playing the same brand of uptempo hockey with the multiple interchangeable parts.

That is a deep, deep lineup if you ask me. If that is our lineup come March/April, I think we have the depth at forward to make some noise in the playoffs.

The question has and always will be, do we have what it takes at the back end to make a run? Despite the fact that I really love the added responsibilities that young guys like Sauer and McDonagh are being given (and more importantly the emergence of Staal and Girardi as our go-to defense pairing), I think the Carolina game was a perfect example of the added workload taking a toll on some of the guys we rely on most. Our D corps looked fatigued, and I think they need help. We will definitely need some veteran stability on defense if we're serious about making a run.

No, Prospal had 19 PP points last season. It was Del Zotto and Katalik that helped the PP they combined for 38 PP points.

But Kotalik played 30 games lessthan Prospal. and both Del Zotto and Kotalik were taken off the PP several times a season.

Alex Ovechkin has 15 PPP this season through nearly 50 games and you're dismissing Prospal's 19 PPP last season?

Do you remember how many shorties we gave up with Kotalik on the point? And are you really trying to argue that the PP wouldn't be better if Vinnie was in the line up? Of course it would.

Its good. If Prospal were to return i'd have to think Christensen or Zuccarello would be on-the-bubble to be taken out, depending on how useful Vinny is with his legs.

I think we may get surprised with Vinny back after the All Star Break.
I figured Prust was going to be sitting out till after the break that guy is beat up with his shoulder and now the blocked shot. Just let him sit and thow Grachev in who is hot in the AHL. Heck why not at this point just play the rooks and I will be pretty happy with 2 of 4 pts in the next two and absolutely thrilled if they get all 4

Also I would think there is a shot Fedotenko is back after the Break as well. Man they needed a week off

Don't believe Torts would take out Zucco--first would be Christensen(could see Prospal playing center for Gabby)or Torts sitting Avery just because 1 game he loves him the next Avery is back on the 4th line.
