I honestly wouldn't mind him on the oilers for like 2.5 mil. He'd help Gagner a lot, considering that's the kind of player he will hopefully end up being. Well not the player now, but the guy he used to be. Plus he'd fill the void giving us three centers and having him on the top line looks better than having Shawn Horcoff try and provide our offense.

As "Trade value at deadline" or as "Salary"?

Trade value at deadline : 2nd rounder, B+ prospect. Think Tyler Toffoli.

Salary : 3.5, +- .5

3 million X 3 years in Ottawa please. Always liked him as a player, but hate him for 7.3 or whatever ludicrous number he's sporting.

It's not unreasonable to suggest that he'd command $4M. He's still a good player, he's just not a #1 center and not nearly worth his current salary.

He is still worth 3.5-4 on a 3 or 4 year term.

Still a great second line center at that price

Legit 2nd center , he won a cup, he's good in playoff, he has leadership....

4.5M$ /3 years.

I think he’d be worth around $4M per year, but as a UFA, I could see a team offering up to 5, if they are desperate for a C. While he is having a very tough season, he has otherwise been a consistent 60-70 point player since the lockout. Add in being around a PPG in the playoffs, and that wouldn’t seem too crazy.

I'd say somewhere between $4-4.5M cap hit per year.

Hasn't scored more than 60 points since 2007-08 and is on pace for 40 points this year.

Around $3.5 mil would be my guess. I'm not sure why some Canadiens fans say he's only overpaid by $1 million. He would not get close to $6.4 million on the open market.

Alot would depend on the term... i could see as high as 4.5 mil if its a 1 or maybe 2 year deal. 3-4 if its longer.

45 Games Played: 6-17-23. ~0.5 ppg. -9

He's averaging 18:16 TOI/G. He is clearly Montreal's #2 center. (2 minutes behind Plekanec & 5+ minutes ahead of Halpern).

He's averaging 2:36 of PP time per game.

IMO he's a below average 2nd line center now. (53rd for points for centers). He's just ahead of such players as Vladimir Sobotka, Marcel Goc & Eric Belanger. Hell he's only 4 points ahead of Jeff Halpern despite playing 5+ minutes more a night.

I wouldn't sign him as a UFA. He's not scoring enough to be a 2nd line center, he's not good enough defensively to be a bottom-6 player. I would rather search for bargain bin centers.

Based on the type of player he has BECOME, he's not worth more than 3 million a year.

3.5 million or less is an absolute joke for a player, who is as versatile and talented as Gomez. Sure he had a terrible early part of the season, but he is still a very good 60 point centerman, with the potential to score even more. I would say he gets 4.5-5 million as an UFA right now.

Given Toronto's glaring lack of top 6 centers, specifically a top 3, I'd give him 4.

i think he'd get around 3.5-4 million. he is still a good option as a 2nd line/3rd line centre who can play on the pp.

Probably around $4m, but he's not worth the ridiculous contract he's on.

4.5 million. He plays a two-way game and when not scoring at least contributes defensively.

He'd get at least $4 mil a season. Anyone who says below that is just naive
