Schremp would be nice but he's not what we need, we need size, Robbie Schremp is only 5'11.5

I like Chipchura

`Yes he is better than Schremp, but who do you prefer between Korpikoski and Chipchura?

Schremp has skill but Chipchura has a LION'S HEART. If he really is "the next Trevor Linden", this could end up being one of the greatest picks in Club History. I couldn't he happier!

This makes us nearly complete as an organization.

I think Higgins will be our captain way before Chipchura.

Great pick by Gainey and Co.

Chipchura is a warrior! This kid is going to fit very nicely!

I'm happy with this, Chipchura is a safe pick has tons of character, not the greatest offencive upside but doens't eveyrhting else really well, we need some size up the middle and now we got it.BTW Chipchura was ranked #1 for NA skaters at the mid-term ranking but then I blieve got a groin injury that slowed him down from there on but then recovered fully form the injury and was able to turn it on again near the end of the season.

YA !!!!!!!!!! CHIPCHUARA !!!!!!. I really don't care about the highly skilled player ... we have tons of them in our prospect depth ... We needed sized and leadership not another non physical highly skilled player !!.

Komisarek and Chipchuara ... Bring it on .

I'm sure Saku's not happy we went with Kyle. It was either Korpikoski who went through the same program as him in Turku, Finalnd, or a guy who will one day challenge him for team captaincy.

That being said, I think we'll like Chippy all the same.

Shoot me now.

Kill me now.

What a disaster. Leaving Schremp, Korpikoski and Meszaros on board to go with a safe pick.

Sickening.

Totally Agree!!
YES, the Perfect Pick and Perfect Kid. Our future Captain or Assistant Captain beside Higgins and Komo. We are really lucky to have kids with this type of character in our organization.
The MONTREAL CANADIENS need western (big time hearts & grit). Remember Skrudland, Keane, Odelien, and Tucker.
YES YES YES
WE HAB FANS IN THE WEST LOVE TO HAVE OUR BOYS PLAYING FOR OUR BELOVED TEAM.
Remember Montreal has a huge following in the West still.

I agree with that. Also, Chipchura's offensive skills are often downplayed because many look at his stats, and see he didn't light it up, but don't mention the injuries he had to play through.

On a semi side note, watching who is being picked and where should give us a good perspective of how open this draft is and how you must put faith in the scouts. All us armchair scouts and GM's can second guess everything but look how wrong we have all been already, it shows the crapshoot nature of a draft.

It's the 3rd time in a row that the Montreal Canadiens pick my "favorite" prospect.

Higgins, Kastsytsin and now Chipchura. Hopefully Chipchura will develop his offensive upside and become the big two way 2nd line center that we desperately need.

Marc,

Listen to what people are saying about Chipchura. He is respected, he is extremely well liked, and he is going to be with us for a long time. He's captain's material. That's what wins you Cups, and that's what it's all about.

Excellent pick imo. 6'2, 197 pounds, and plays C, and who also happens to be a gritty hard working player with a huge heart! Even if his offensive game doesn't pan out, he will still make an awsome two way third line C.

I couldnt be any more estatic right now!!!!!!!

Chip is a Gainey type of player. The reason he took him is for exactly that. I have 100% faith in Gainey and Timmins,

Obviously Gainey pick. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but doesnt Chipchura project to be exactly like Bob himself? Not offensive leader but heavy hitter and good two way player? Bit of a gamble seeing him drop that much, but he was top ranked NA skater at midseason... Selke Trophy here we come.

We drafted for a need.

That's why I am sick.

IMO, there were lots of interesting players still on board that would have been much better picks.

It's my opinion, destroy it if you want.

We didn't need schremp ... he is TOO SMALL ... we won't win a championship with just highly skilled player ... We need to build on some CHARACTER PLAYER !!

I'm so happy with this pick.

WTF are you talking about.

You don't like a Trevor Linden type of hockey player.
This is not a safe pick, Shremp is a serious head case and there are some serious issues with Woliski. We have specific needs and Bob is going to have influence and his stamp with this years draft.
Remember fans in Quebec, the Habs will have and never win a cup with only french hockey players. Remember Harvey, the Big M, Ferguson, Robinson, Gainey, Shutt, Dryden, Keane, Corson, Chelios etc......................................right to Chipchura!!
