Leafs interested in Ribeiro

This seems more legit than Savard to Leafs for garbage that was happening on tweeter a little while ago.

I hate Ribiero, but we could easily use someone like him.

Can't stand Ribeiro, don't see why we wouldn't push for Savard instead.

That was *maybe* one rumour. Most have it as Kaberle for Savard.

I agree i think Savard is unrealistic we would need to add alot to gain him and Boston wouldn't do it because it would give us a betetr chance of not coming 29th.

I like Riberio i think it should be Kaberle, he was Nieuwendyk's teamate and while he was in management he was high on Grabovski too

Care to elaborate why? I honestly cannot think of one reason why I would rather Ribeiro.

If Burke pulled that deal off he should be put in the HOF right there

but are the Leafs willing to pay the difference in asking price between Savard and Ribeiro? I would rather have Savard too, but I would assume the asking price is a lot higher.

He's younger, healthier, isn't paid until he's 40, and is underrated. Look at his stats in Dallas:

Dallas NHL 66 19 34 53 -5
2008-09 Dallas NHL 82 22 56 78 -4
2007-08 Dallas NHL 76 27 56 83 21
2006-07 Dallas NHL 81 18 41 59 3

I don't think people realize how strong he's played the last few seasons.

Assets needed to acquire Ribeiro would be less then to acquire Savard - especially since Savard is within the division

Have you watched Savard!?
There's a reason Savard is a top 10 center EASILY. Ribeiro is not, and you would be hard pressed to find someone who says so.
Savard is signed longer, for cheaper, and isn't a drama queen. The opposite actually.

I will defintely give you that one. But, you gotta give to get. You get so much more with Savard, I feel it''s a much, much better idea.

Being signed for longer isn't a big asset in this case.

Savard I would rather unless he would cost us the future. Ribs is not a bad backup plan though I think I would rather give Lombardi a chance if we could sign him.

He was tossed out of Calgary and had issues before he left Atlanta too, so this may not be true

Lombardi would be a good pick-up, Now that he's the #1 center left in FA what do you think he'll be offered? 3.5-4 per?? Plekanec got 5 per for 6 yrs. Pavelski just signed for 4 per
