Saku Koivu back to Montreal

Not like they would bring him back but what would it take?

I'd love to see him go back to Montreal, that city loves him.

Probably an overpayment because the Ducks don't have much of a reason to trade him.

I don't think Anaheim would move him as they are quite bare in the Centerman position, and with them possibly making playoffs they can't afford to lose him.

It would take Carey Price and Mike Cammalleri Selanee's retiring a duck.

doubt that, unless youre speaking of a 2nd round pick instead of a 3rd. that kinda thing.

although i do think it would take the ducks aquiring a different center from a different team before hand to make it possible to trade him. but i dont think his value is all that high to warrant an overpayment

you have to think of his value to us.. and yes it is high.. hes our best faceoff guy and he keeps the most popular duck happy so therefore value is wayyyyyyyyyyyy high

Yes, but the Ducks aren't going to trade Koivu for a second rounder. The Ducks best center (and player) is hurt - they are in no position to trade their second line center. They would need a center to replace Koivu coming back and an incentive to actually trade him in the first place (draft pick/prospect/whatever). So in effect, yes the Habs would have to overpay to get him.

The Ducks won't trade Koivu. He's locked up for next year and he's an important player to them. Getzlaf is injured and Koivu is the 2nd line center and their center depth isn't the strongest to begin with.

Koivu will retire a Duck IMO. He's happy in Anaheim and he loves being a Duck and playing with Selanne. As for him in Montreal, it's in the past. The ship has sailed.

dont see the point of this thred
the ducks are in the playoffs race and needs him
and as much as i love saku the last thing the habs need is a small center

yeah i get that i was merely giving an example as to what little of an overpayment he may warrant (ie the switch from a 3rd to a 2nd = not that drastic) but like i also said the ducks dont have a reason to trade him nor are they in the position to. but pure value wise he's not an elite player, so ppl saying subban and pleck are being a little rediculous

again ducks cant afford to trade him unless they somehow aquire another center from another team that has little to nothing to do with the habs before the two teams talk

Still has the juice in him or not, Koivu centers the Habs first line while Brian Gionta hands Koivu back the "C" and the Montreal Canadiens win their 25th Stanley Cup all due to Carey Price's stunning performance's and Mike Cammalleri's goal sniping.
