Tanguay will most likely not be traded, he has a NMC and probably wouldn't waive it.
But Calgary would be looking for picks and prospects on the other players. I think Glencross, Hagman, and Babchuk could all reel in 2nd rounders and maybe another prospect.
I don't think Glencross fetches a 2nd. He's great and all, but not worth a 2nd.
Tough to say, depends on what teams are looking for. If Dominic Moore got a 2nd I don't see it being to shocking for Glencross to get one, I would say he is one of the best penalty killers in the league.
I'd give a 3rd and a mediocre prospect. I think that's pretty bang on.
Would the flames take...
Montreal
Tom Pyatt
3rd round pick
for
Calgary
Curtis Glencross
??
With White and Engqvist battling for spots right now, they have Pyatt as a scratch. Pyatt is a great PKer. Just has become the odd man out of late. He is still young and on a very cheap contract. I think the way Pyatt plays speed and grit, he would be a perfect fit for the flames.
Montreal could also use Glencross and he would take Pyatt's PKing basically. He would help with size and also probably be a great fit for our 3rd line. He could move up if injuries become an issue.
I think it would be what the Habs are looking for at the deadline for up front and would just have to possibly look at a tough dman for the long stretch.
Hey we are only 5 points out now. If we can get a winning streak soon then we could be buyers at the deadline. Maybe I am getting a little too excited...

Now alot of people may think im wrong. But I say the Flames dont make a move, if they do just a minor. The Flames are only like what? 5 points from a spot, and they're on fire right now. They just took out Dallas and Vancouver on Friday and Saturday, you cant say thats not impressive. I really do think the Flames have a good shot at being contenders, then again 14 teams in the Western are contenders, LOL Edmonton sucks.
The only thing I'd predict with a good deal of confidence is that they wait as long as possible before making any move in one direction or the other. I could be wrong about that, too, but so be it.
The team is in 14th place but is only a couple of points back of 8th. I think it would certainly be premature, but if they sell now they nix their chances of making it, and (for better or worse) I think they'd take playoffs over no playoffs. So I think Feaster sits tight and watches the team very carefully to try to figure out if their improvement is for real or just a hot streak, and makes his moves right up at the deadline accordingly. If they're not securely in the playoff mix, I don't see them hanging onto UFAs and letting them walk- they have to re-sign them or move them out.
EDIT: I'd like to add that I'm finally of the mind that they need to be going for some kind of rebuild. Maybe full, maybe quick, but I wouldn't keep hitting my head against the wall the way they've been doing.
They are one of the teams that I think will unlodad leading up to the deadline
on D Babchuk could have some value for a team looking for PP help. Staios maybe since he is a UFA. 6th Dman
Upfront I can see Hagman and Jokinen moved. Morrison, Tanguay are UFA's as well as Glenross.
Of course Kirpusoff maybe had as well
what's the value of these players if any?
\
Nope, NMC and has stated over and over he wants to rebuild his career in Calgary over these 2 years and he and his family love the city. Highly doubt Feaster would even try to persuade him to move.
Why not? Giving up a 1st-round pick + Lombardi + Prust for Olli Jokinen who's -15 and on pace for 16 goals was an ever so brilliant move, the type of move that puts a team over the top...
It'll be tough for them to make big moves to help their rebuild because of all the NMC's they gave out. Not to mention it will be interesting to see what Feaster does, especially if he's only warming the GM seat for someone else for the rest of the year.
Hagman could be moved I think, Jokinen has a NMC, which was already mentioned, but I'd still try to move him. Maybe a team like ATL? He seems to do well in markets where they get 12,000 fans a game and not much media coverage, he wasnt great in NY and has been average in Calgary in my opinion.
Morrison seems like a solid checking line center for a contender so we'll see
