Kerry Frasier was on that TSN show with Kouleas and Barnaby. He was saying when the ref has the intent to blow the whistle, whether he does it before the puck crosses the line or not is irrelevant. What matters is when, in his mind, the play becomes dead. So, if the Ref is in the motion of bringing the whistle to his lips to blow the play dead, and at the same time the puck goes in, it is a no goal.
That has got to be the most retarded rule. Not surprisingly, Frasier is a full supporter of it.
The Refs are given way too much leverage in this league. It's the main reason why there's so much criticism around officiating.
I have to wonder, what is Bettman doing at the head of the NHL? According to him, there's no need to move any franchise, all is going relatively well, the referees are doing a great job and if you dare criticize them, you will get fined, the head shots do not need much attention, apparently very little concussions come from the hit themselves it's the collateral damage when they fall or wtv..
The guy is doing nothing to fix the problems surrounding the NHL. It's incredibly frustrating.

If you have never listened to Edwards than you have no clue what your talking about. Edwards is by far the worst announcer (homer and all), than anything I have ever heard in a hockey game. The guy has no hockey sense, and his little stupid comments are bad. Many of the Boston fans can't stand him.

I agree that they have the right to cheer for their team, but I think it's a bit too much. I honestly wouldn't like to have Houde to be like that, I like a bit of objectivity from time to time.
