I agree they should keep playing Markstrom, but due to my belief that it'll hurt pulling him more than it'll help.

Except we'd potentially ruin another prospect. Clemmensen is bad enough, we could do the same thing with him.

good call - real smart.
No, what would kill Markströms confidence would be to put Clemmer in the net for the third period. Then he will think that those goals were his fault even though they will likely tell him otherwise.
Give Markström some games. He needs this experience for his development.

Vokoun's first NHL game was with montreal. He got lit up for some ridiculous amount of goals, 5 or 7 or something...
Didn't exactly kill him, did it?
My point: one game won't shatter anyone's confidence. If anything, this will show the kid he's got work to do in the AHL.
EDIT: was 12 goals.

Yea they should of just let him sit in the AHL in the beginning of the year when he wasn't playing that great, can't lose confidence if you don't play...

Or perhaps he'll get better the more he plays. He did it for a horrible Rochester team. If he can't handle the adversity then he never belonged in the NHL, anyway.

This is true. If he wants to be an NHL goaltender, then he needs to see what it takes to become one. It's a balancing act between not rushing him/crushing his confidence, and giving him the needed experience.

DeBoer made the right decision in keeping Markstrom in.

Oleszs weakest backhand ever. It was like 2 mph, so effort less on a 3 on 2.
