What about Jagr?

His contract was up with Avangard, did he resign? Might he come back to the NHL?

I remember when he signed that contract that he said if Mario asked he would play for the NHL min. after that contract. Mario it is time to ask.

I know Jagr was just full of crap but I wish Shero would hold him to his word and see if Jagr would play for the $2 million the Pens have left. It is never going to happen but I would love a PP with Crosby, Malkin, and Jagr.

Tangradi-Crosby-Jagr
Kunitz-Malkin-Dupuis
Cooke-Staal-Kennedy
Adams-Talbot-Rupp

Michalek-Martin
Orpik-Letang
Lovejoy-Gogo

Fleury
Johnson

That is a better lineup than when we won the Cup by a long shot. Crosby 22, Malkin 23, Staal 21, Kennedy 23, and Letang 23 were all 2 years younger and now they are closer to their primes which should be improvement just from that.

I also don't think the Pens have ever had a better top 4 D. We have had Dmen like Murph and Coff but I don't know if we had a better top 4.

Like I said I know it is not going to happen but one could dream.

I also think the Pens would be worried about Jagr's personality in the club house.

After playing in the Olympics and against the top players in the world I believe Jagr knew he couldn't be a top 6 guy for 82 games anymore in the NHL.

amm did you not watch him? He showed he would still be one of the top players in the league and that in the right situation he could be capable of challenging for the scoring lead. Thats how good he was in the Olympics and WC. He is older but still a huge talent and he showed why he is one the best players in the world to ever play hockey.

I have to disagree. If there's any player at 38 years of age that can still play at a high level it's Jagr. He always had elite skills, but now he relies more on his game smarts. I kinda wish he would of finished off his career in the NHL. BTW I never liked Jagr but I can't deny he is and was talented.

I will take my chances going forward with that group.

You can't win every year but making the finals and winning once in the past 3 years was not too bad.

The best team does not always win a 7 game series and that is why winning the Cup is less than 40% chance even when you have the best team. I am glad Shero has put us in position to compete for a Cup the past 3 years and many more years in the future.

And he wasn't the same in the Olympic tourney after that hit, that is why he wouldn't be able to last the 82 games at his age. His best years are behind him, he isn't willing to play for less money and in a 3rd line role.

good thing they locked up halak long term, it would suck to lose him, with crosby and malkin past their primes, and montreal locking up the best goaltender in the league, they have no chance against them ever again!

anyways jagr won't be back to the NHL, I heard he plays in russia so his dad can watch him play in person

Challenge for the scoring lead?

There's a reason why he plays hard at the Olympics and WC. Every game matters there. Of course he is going to go hard. You really think on a cold Jan morning he's going to wake up ready to give 100% that night?
