I think with the uncertainity of the Markov situation if (and it's still an important if) Wisniewski continue a good level of play in his zone, continue his physicality and good first pass (I don't expect him to continue his production at the same pace) I could see the organization be willing to give the guy good money (4-4,5 millions), plus a lot of players could be gone on the D making cap space. Wiznasty also seem to be liking his stay in MTL so I don't think it will be a problem. The guy also has moved alot in few years I could see him want to get some stability.

2 silly trends make me say no:

1. We never seem to keep our big shot from the point on powerplays these recent years. From Souray to Streit to Schneider to MAB. Will Wisniewski be different?

2. Whoever wears #20 doesn't seem to last long on the team ever since Zednik left.

Well I think the case of Schneider and Bergeron are easy to see why we didn't keep them. Also, I think have see their errors especially with Streit. So it give them even more reasons to sign him. Plus, it's the first time the player is actually young and entering good years.

The good thing about Wis, that we didn't have with past snipers. When the Boston game comes, he will fight, I hope!

Well Souray is/was a great fighter, but you're right for the others.

We Hope! He's fitting in and I think Coach Martin it telling him just to shoot. But when Boston is in, we need him Natural...

yes if he wants in the 4-4.5M range. If he has a good season he could get greedy

I'd be shocked. Another, more aggressive team will make him a better offer.

I voted no, just that gut feeling of we never seem to sign the players we trade for.

I voted yes purely on us needing him and him liking it here. But there are a 29 other reasons why he might go somewhere else and if he does get greedy he can go. It would be sad though I like the guy.

I want to believe he will. But I can see other teams offering him better money.

He seems like such a great fit in such a short amount of time. I remember how long it took me to get used to Moore and Metropolit being on the squad, but with the Wis it feels like he's been here the whole year.

People in the renaissance also believed you'd get better eyesight if you ate the eyes of a wolf.

I'd rather call them silly beliefs

I sure hope so which is why I voted yes.

A healthy Markov, Gorges, Subban and Wiz is a really good start to build a serious group of blueliner. I fear Wiz won't come cheap though, Markov is obviously a huge questionmark and Gorges will probably get $2M+

Yes, but people here need to realize he ain't coming cheap. We are looking at a cap hit of 4-4,5 for Wiz. And why the hell not. He is about PPG in a Habs jersey and brings life to the blueline.

If we don't extend Hammer next year Wiz' raise shouldn't cause problems.

I think Markov's status will have a lot to do with it. If Markov is not back then there is a very good chance the Habs will go all out to sign him. If Markov is back at a reasonable contract I still think he will be here. But if Markov is back and costs a lot on a long term deal then maybe not. I guess it might come down to him or Hammer in the end unless they find a way to trade Spacek.

I'm still not sure yet. Since there are only two options, I'm going to be positive and say yes.
