I'll be at VC for this one. I hope it's better than the 1-0 OT loss to TB, which is the only other game I've been to this year.

Rangers are limping into this one at Verizon. Lots and lots of injuries. Caps need to take it to them early.

Lets go caps!

DJ King stats with him in the lineup: We are 7-4; in games he gets into a fight we are 2-2. I figured with so few games played, it was be easy to see how we do with him in the lineup. He hasnt been quite the deterrent I had wanted, but Bruce may not play him enough to actually do that effectively. In his defense, it is hard to say what liberties may have been taken on our players had he not been in the lineup any given night.

With Prust Avery and the new punk on the block Newbury, I want him in the lineup tonight.

Dang...looking at our high scorers from our previous two games I can see why we didn't do well against them. We should be good provided at least one of the young guns gets it going, we've certainly got better depth this year I think on our lower lines. Prediction:

6-2 Caps.....Backy 2g, 1a....Green 1g, 1a, Ovie 1g 2a, Laich 1g, and Hannan's first goal here.

No if it means sitting Hendricks every night. Or a Beagle. Play him against our toughest rivals, a team with a little punk ass biotch, vs. a team stacked with heavies, one that we dont really match up well against. Or a division rival, like Tampa.

Just to clarify, havent you implied he is not needed? A detriment to actually winning games? Not going to see another shift if we go down a goal?

Unless it's mind games, the Caps look to be catching a break:

VogsCaps (Mike Vogel) | Looks like the #Caps will get Biron tonight. @AGrossRecord: Wrong again. Biron first goalie off.

http://twitter.com/#!/VogsCaps

Rangers play tomorrow as well, and it looks like they will play Lundqvist in the second of back-to-backs. Martin Biron goes tonight.

i dont know. how much did he play? 8 shifts for the game and was on for the only goal against. did he play after that?

actually, no. i dont think he is needed. another player in his role that can do a little more hockey, wise, perhaps. I'd rather get 10 plus minutes a night from Hendricks or Bradley or Beagle than to use King.

Makes sense to me. Tomorrow's game is against Florida, who is one of the teams on the teams in the 9-11 positions in the East who could get hot and potentially bump the Rags out of a playoff spot. A win there is a 2-for-1. While the Rags are closer to us in the standings, I think Torts reasonably concludes that it is very unlikely that we are a direct threat to their playoff lives.

Plus, the home fans like Henrik.

Biron in net for us tonight. Girardi out, Del Zotto in. Prust a game-time decision. One of Grachev or Dupont scratched (likely Dupont) if Prust is good to go. Lineup uncertain and will likely change throughout the game.

Limping? Nothing like trying to take down a wounded animal. I prefer sleeping.

For those who're interested (taken from the Rangers GDT):

Ruslan Fedotenko - OUT: Shoulder injury
Brandon Dubinsky - OUT: Leg injury
Erik Christensen - OUT: Sprained MCL
Derek Boogaard - OUT: Concussion
Vinny Prospal - IR: Knee injury
Ryan Callahan - IR: Broken hand
Alexander Frolov - IR: Torn ACL

Also, Prust and Girardi should be game time decisions. Last I checked, Prust didn't skate this morning but Girardi did.

It's also worth noting Biron might not be the blessing some think it is. Obviously the last time these two teams met it was a laugher, but the Caps have traditionally done pretty well against Lundqvist. I have no numbers on hand to back it up, but I recall Comcast did a little segment about it at some point.

P.S. I don't understand how we can have a GDT without mentioning Tortorella threw a water bottle at a woman's head.

They have an incompetent coach compared to ours, he has a whole bunch of injuries to deal with and have their back up goalie in net. Impossible to see anything other than an easy win for the Caps.

Thanks for the update your excellency. Lets see...

Ruslan Fedotenko - Apple Cheeks
Brandon Dubinsky - shaving comment wiseguy
Derek Boogaard - Noogie Man
Vinny Prospal - Semi-Caps Killer
Ryan Callahan - Nick Pwned in Playoffs
Alexander Frolov - Their Semin

I think we are looking at a defensive struggle. You think we hunker down? Watch them.

Is there video of him throwing the water bottle? I thought he just squirted someone. Still damn impressive a fan got Torts knocked out of a playoff game Which they lost of course.

And the shoutout to Robin Ficker. What a menace that dude was.
