Forget the Cap for a Second NJD-Pens

Maybe its just me but couldn't a deal centered around Malkin going to the Devils and Parise going to the Pens really help both parties?
I know the cap would be a problem in this but you never know maybe a work around could work. (Rolston to minors?)
More than likely this deal would take place in the offseason if Pits doesn't have a great playoffs

I would assume there would be more to this deal as well but just want to mention the core players

Pitts gets a Superstar Winger to play along side Crosby

Devils get a superstar Centerman to play alongside Kovy

I think you just blew my mind.

Let me return the favor: Staal for Kulemin - Goligoski for Benn/Neal. Boom.

wont happen because of being in the same divison and salary cap, but would love Parise on the Pens.

its been discussed much on this board and the general agreement is won't happen;

1. Same Division
2. Each team would want overpayment
3. Each team has no desire to make the other better (links to #1 and #2)

This pretty much sums it up.

Devils wouldn't trade Parise to a division rival, especially with the salary cap. I'd rather have Parise's contract.

Everything you've said has already been beaten to death over the past four months.

Glad to see you're up to speed now...

I imagine it'd be more of a Staal + rather than Malkin.

I would do that deal. The only thing that gives me pause is that Malkin seems to be injured allot.

That, his lack of defense, and his ~9 mil cap hit. Malkin is likely the better player, but with all things considered, I'd rather have Parise.
