Good that he is no longer influential.

Disagree with each one besides the trapezoid. The rest have been good changes (at least IMO) and shouldn't be brought back to what they used to be.

I've come to like the rules the way they are. Why downgrade the NHL by returning it to its former self?

That's exactly what I was thinking.

There are actually people out there who liked it? Who knew.

I only agree with removing the trapezoid and the automatic delay of game penalty.

I would get rid of the delay of game penalty.

This thread title is a little misleading. I dont see how you can flatly say the rule changes are bad for the Rangers. When you make a statement like that and dont put anything behind it, whats the point?

Only if it would be equal to icing, i.e. no change and D-zone face-off for the team caused the delay. Ref discretion is a BS. However, elimination of the rule is no good for Rangers as we seemed to get benefited from the rule this season.

The worst one was getting rid of tag up offsides and go back to automatic whistle. Just terrible.

All are bad.

3 terrible ideas and two good ones. Lose the trapezoid and the automatic penalty. The others just clog up the ice again.

Every single change is bad for us. Starting with trapezoid elimination - Hank is no puck handling champ. Red line restoration - no goal for Dubi from Gilroy feed, for instance.
We get goals from game delay penalties. We play well behind the net. What else? Hey why don't you prove me wrong before blatantly criticizing.

I don't care if they leave or take away the trapezoid. I'd lean to keeping it, though... About 51/49 on that rule.

Leave the offsides how it is.

Bring back two-line passing rule? Dumb.

Eh, I'd like to keep the trapezoid. I always hated DP going into the corners on a dump and chase to throw the puck up in to the neutral zone, that's not good hockey.

Guess what... It'll hurt every other team one way or another. Not just the Rangers.

I still say get rid of the trapezoid and if the goalie goes behind the net you can deck him.

I may be wrong but I seem to remember Bowman being a strong advocate for removing the red line, too.

With all due respect to his coaching ability, it seems Bowman wants to go back to every game ending 1-1. I'll have none of it thank you.

Terrible ideas from Bowman, IMO. Most of those rules were put in place to try to speed the game up. Make it more exciting for fans and players.

Don't slow it down again by adding the ****ing red line.

It would be interesting to see if smaller zones would change anything. We seem to thing that bigger would create more space, maybe it does the opposite?

Anyway, the idea of automatic offsides (ugh) and the quasi-two line pass are non-sense. If you're going to put the 2 line pass back, may as well go all the way instead of top of the circle. What if you're in the middle of the ice and the linesman's eye is off by a foot (imaginary lines)? Could make a big difference.

i like all the rules as is, only thing i would want is the hybrid icing rule (if the offensive player has a chance, the referee blows the whistle on contact. if the offensive player has no chance, just blow it dead right then and there.

actually, thats not a bad idea. if the goalie has the puck on his stick behind the net, he is fair game. that might make them think twice about playing the puck. and honestly it would help us since Henrik is so awful with the puck behind the net anyway.
