Textbook LA Kings victory.

I hope TM has finally realized after almost three full seasons that he cannot dress a goon anymore because this team has to small a margin of error.

Tonight was a game where a Westgarth blunder or stupid penalty could have changed the game. I can not think of another game where Westgarth should play. Maybe those last 2 vs. the Ducks if we are out of it or have already clinched, but that's it. The games are just too big and the points too important.

Just to be safe I am taking up a collection to send my wife on the road with the team. She has doesn't need help with tickets but hotels/meals/travel would be much appreciated by me. She is a perfect 21-0 over the past couple of years when attending games and has 4 shut outs to her credit (depending on how you feel about those sort of things).

I will call it the "Keep my wife on the road with the Kings" fund.

Anyone?

But the exact same if not more can be said for the failure of Poniboy as well.

At least Westgarth can fight.

I would call that Quicks best game, not the teams best game. The 4-0 win over San Jose was by far their best game.

One of the most dominating games of the year. They really controlled the play tonight. Without Thomas, this was a 6-0 win.

A bad game by Poni is better than a good game by Westgarth.

Poni had 3 shots in 8 minutes. He is much better defensively.

I said it in the GDT, but Greene was a beast tonight. Great game for #2.

28:th but close enough to giving up alot more than I thought.

I saw a couple of games (not entire game) with them where they didn't give up ****. So my assumption were they were playing like that all the time.

Now here is a surprise for you ; least shots against---- NJD!!!!!

..and second is of course LA Kings

The defense played their best game ad a whole tonight. Murray needs to keep Mitchell on the left side. It is sad that a player has to ask the coach to play him in his natural position. First with Brown and now with Mitchell.

I had a laugh reading this in the Bruins' GDT:

Quote:
Sure, the effort wasn't great tonight and the new lines may need a game or two to re-acclimate, but the Bruins just can't beat LA's team speed.
Boston may be the only team that makes the Kings look fast.

There wasn't much dump and chase tonight. For some reason Boston allowed the Kings to skate it in and gave up space in the middle. I have to question their game plan.

We played a great game tonight, was good to see!

I really like Loktionov on the first line with Brown and Kopi so far, i think he will just keep getting better if they keep him there. TM and DL have to seriously consider making room for him there once Sturm is healthy again.

Was great to see Quick back in his top form for this game too.

Great team defense tonight. Very good shutout for Quick. Loktionov the water bug getting the clincher.
Clifford throwing with bad intention again. Our 3rd line. Dug it all.

Small sample but Boston's defense leaves a lot to be desired. Thomas/Rask are going to have to stand on their heads all season.

This was the King team from the beginning of the season. How many of you saw that same old dump-in offense from the last 3 weeks? If you did, go to the psychiatrist becasue an eye doctor cant help you. This team knows how to play, which is contrary to how TM wants them to play. Tonight, a transition game was evident that doesn't happen with the Dump and chase. The Kings were dominant and adevandry hit the nail on the head, the score doesnt show it. When Kopi and Brown finally figure out where their game has been, watch out, because if this team that showed up tonight decides to finish the rest of the season, there are a few suprises left for some Western Conference teams.

****, it feels good to string two wins together. Lets knock off San jose on Wednesday and go into the break on a roll.

Go KINGS GO

Go KINGS GO

Go KINGS GO

Go KINGS GO

I honestly cannot believe that the Kings are only 3 pts out of the playoffs... It was just last week when they were what? 8-9 pts out? 2-3 games and we are once again fighting for a spot. Great effort the WHOLE game tonight. Notice how I said "WHOLE" when Kings play a consistent full game, we get 2 pts. When you play 10 mins, 15 mins, and 1 period, you lose by just ONE GOAL. Keep it going boys! I honestly love how much speed Lokti brings to the team, it was greatly needed to add some jump into this line-up. Let's eat some Shark and get a 4 pt turnaround! WE NEED IT!

... Quick played a great game. I'm very happy for him.

The Kings showed me a lot tonight. They showed me they're not ready to pull the plug on the season just yet.

It isn't over until we say it's over.

Loktionov needs to stay up here, he's definitely the best option for Kopitar right now. That 3rd line is amazing , can't wait for next year when Schenn can play where Lewis is and Lewis can handle 4th line duties

with loki on the first line does it seems to flow or is it my imagination, the kid is playing pretty good positional hockey for not having played the lw much, and not that it matters but is zeus' line the fourth line or is it lewis' both seemed on the ice a lot in the 2 games

Before the uninformed run away with this..

Kings play an aggressive 2-1-2 forecheck system, designed to put pressure on the opposition and create turnovers. When pulled off effectively, there's a brisk transition from defence to offence obviously. So the bold part above is inaccurate.
Dump & Chase is an option, and an effective one for the Kings, they've got the size to gain possession. Or if there's room they can use the ice in front of them, but there needs to be support forwards around, and the Kings are doing a better job at that.

Textbook win.

Kopitar's line needed a puck mover, a player with the ability to distribute and handle the puck, and we're finally seeing how much Kopitar and Brown are benefiting from it. Keep Loktionov on the roster from here on out. There should be no looking back for him.
