Sabres Survivor-Game Twelve-Round Four @ OTT (1/25/11)
Sabres Survivor Rules
-Pick a Sabre who you believe will score a point in tonight's game. If you believe the Sabres will be shutout, you may select a shutout as your pick. If you are correct, you live on. If that Sabre is held off the score sheet, or if you pick shutout and are incorrect, you've been voted off the island. However, If all remaining players in the Survivor Game are eliminated giving us no winner based on points. A series of tiebreakers will be used to determine the winner of that Survivor Game. The tiebreaker order is as follows: Most Shots on Goal. Best +/- rating. Most PIM.Most TOI.
-You can pick a player a maximum of 2 times in one game, but never consecutively.
EX Roy,Roy NO. Roy,Connolly,Roy YES. Roy,Connolly,Roy,Connolly,Roy NO.
-Shootout goals will not be counted as points. The player you choose must record a point in regulation time or in the 5 minute overtime for it to be counted
-If the Sabres are shutout, and nobody has picked a shutout for that game, the game continues on.The picks made for the game in which the Sabres were shutout apply to the next Sabres game. However, If a shutout occurs and a shutout was picked by a contestant than all contestants with player picks are eliminated.
-You can pick the same Sabre as someone else did for any given game as long as you have not used that Sabre twice already.
-Make your picks carefully. If you choose a Sabre who doesn't play in that game, you are eliminated due to that Sabre scoring 0 points in that game.
-Once a Survivor game has started, nobody else can join in until that game has declared a winner.
- Picks must be made a before puck drop of that hockey game.
-LAST MAN OR WOMAN STANDING WINS
Pominville, Myers, Ennis and Gerbe all had a goal and an assist each Sunday afternoon as the Sabres finally defeated the New York Islanders.
Next up for the Sabres (22-21-5,49pts.3rd in NE) are the Ottawa Senators (17-25-7,41pts.5th in NE). This is game 4 of 6 scheduled between these two rivals this season. Surprisingly the Sabres currently lead the season series 2-1. The Sabres enter the game looking to wrap up a very good January while the Sens are hoping to win for just the 2nd time in the month. Ottawa has gone a dreadful 1-7-2 this month including a current 5 game losing streak. Will the Senators be able to snap their streak or can Buffalo keep rolling?
Thomas Vanek leads the team with 18 goals. Derek Roy leads the team with 25 assists. Thomas Vanek leads the team with 39 points.
Also just so everyone's on the same page. I was unable to post threads for round two vs NYI and three @ NYI. However, in the round one @ BOS thread some of you posted selections for round two. Because both round two and round three were against the same team(NYI) and I did not post for round three. I allowed any round two selections to be eligible for round three as well.
So as long as the player selected for round two had a point in either Islander game, you advanced. If they went blank in both games, than you were eliminated.
Now that my whole no internet connect and cpu virus problems have been dealt with, hopefully I won't miss posting anymore games.
Well everyone was eliminated - either their player didn't get
a point or they didn't make a pick. So I guess we go to the
tiebreakers with the following contestants who actually choosed
a player - LaxSabre (Ennis) LeafSadist (Vanek) and if we allow it -
First tie-breaker is shots on goal - Ennis 3 shots - Vanek 5 shots
and Stafford - 2 shots on net - so congrats LeafSadist on winning.
(Darn too bad Ennis didn't get 2 more shots - we would have
went to the second tie-breaker - plus/minus - Ennis would have
tied Vanek at 0 - Stafford would have been eliminated - he had -1.
Then I would have won the third tiebreaker - Most Penalty Minutes
as Ennis got a penalty and Vanek didn't - Boo!)
