There are snow bands on the way that no model/guidance showed/picked up on. This is just hilarious.
Channel 4 is talking about it right now.
I went to bed last night expecting this to be an afternoon event, and on my way into work it really started coming down once I went from Suffolk into Nassau. Glad to see I wasn't the only one in the dark on this one.
From a well respected meteorologist who I frequently chat with:
This really concerns me. With all the technology we have, not one map picked up on this, even just 2 hours ago!!! Even now, the radar shows it, but the maps don't--incredible. So apologies to commuters this morning. This rush hour will be tough in some areas. The evening and night will be even tougher since the original prediction of heavy snow for that time, is on track
Please fellow city dwellers and bridge and tunnel people, remember a few things.
1) It's ok to step into the snow for 3 minutes to open your ******* umbrella instead of blocking the ****ing subway steps. Don't worry, its just snow and it wont ruin your wool peacoat and blowback haircut.
2) In fact, just avoid umbrellas all together today ok? They're dangerous and with the wind they become even more dangerous. I got whacked in the face 5 times by idiots with umbrellas this morning.
