Tomas Kaberle to Montreal

I don't think Toronto would deal with Montreal but if Burke wants to trade him and kaberle waives his no trade clause, what would it take?

He didn't waive it for Boston, he wasn't moved when he could be moved, and he's not going to waive it now. Give it up.

#1. He's not going to be moved. He has a NTC that he won't waive.

#2. The only player of interest that Montreal has (other than a guy like Price) would be Pacioretty, and Toronto would problably be better off just resigning Kaberle versus trading for Pacioretty if he's the only piece in the deal.

I don't understand why Toronto would move a capable #2-3 defender willing to sign four roughly 4 million.

in before:
- Carter and a 1st
- Kessel and Bos 1st...no Kaberle and Tor 1st for Kessel....no fk it.
- Dustin Brown
- Clowe and a 1st
- he's not going anywhere he wants to retire without ever having to play past April ever again.

His value is a 12-20th pick in the 2011 draft, or a good second line prospect that has potential to be at least a 3rd line center. Examples from teams that could use him: detroit-sheahan, boston-spooner, etc. But I don't want to trade him unless I know we have a chance to get ehrhoff or pitkanen in FA!

Would Nattinen be of interest to the Leafs?

Maybe Nattinen + Maxwell + a conditional pick if he re-signs.

habs don't have a 2nd but yes value is there---gauthier is not going to deal our only potential 22 yo power forward (25-30 goal guy) for a ufa to be rental.

And Toronto is not going to trade one of their best players who is likely to re-sign for marginal players or picks who do not help the team improve.

Your going to want something for him in case he walks. Burke might look elsewhere come the offseason. He will probably bring in youth for the backend.

He ultimately decides where he gets dealt. One poster said he tried to convince Plekanec to play in Toronto as you must of seen on CBC and he said he his heart was in Montreal.

They train together, maybe Kaberle decides he might accept a trade there to help them and have a crack at the playoffs as well.

I don't know about that. We already have a lot of defensemen as it is. Phaneuf, Schenn, and Gunnarsson will be here for another couple of years. Unfortunately, the same can be said for Beauchemin and Komisarek (itíll take a miracle for someone to take Komisarek off of our hands). Aside from these five, we still have Lebda (Oh God), Blacker, Aulie, Holzer, etc. who could probably play for the big club if they had to. I'm a pretty firm believer that Kaberle will re-sign, but I guess we'll see.
