That sucks for Ohlund. I thought that contract was probably too long when he signed it considering how much he was already slowing down, and it looks even worse now. Hopefully if he can't play again he can at least live his daily life pain free.
The Detroit Red Wings and forward Todd Bertuzzi are reportedly close to completing a two-year contract extension. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=388521

I was thinking along those lines as well. I guess he got a better deal with advanced knee surgery as a NHL-player than a retired player. Better get it done now while active, even if he already might have decided to quit.
82 game pace
Michael Grabner ($3m): 20 goals - 13 assists - 33 points, -18
Mason Raymond ($2.55m): 16 goals - 16 assists - 32 points, +16
I figured that might interest some people.
I'm glad someone pointed it out.
Grabner has some GREAT tools, but has no tool box.
While I am not an ardent Raymond supporter, I had no problem moving Grabner...its a shame Ballard didn't turn out more like we expected, but it was a trade that had to me made.
Couldn't guarantee Hamhuis was going to sign here.
The Koltsov thread someone started made me curious to see what Shirokov was doing...
He has 48 points in 53 games thus far with CKSA. The amazing thing is that the leading scorer or the team has only 29 points. But the next leading forward has only 25 points. He has almost twice as many points as the next scoring forward. Thats like asedin having 100 points and his linemate having only 50 something.

Was incredibly disappointing he didn't get to play here. I thought he played great in his call up last year.

i thought his speed was horrid, other than that, great player. I only really saw him as a threat on the PP because his speed didn't matter. I dont think he was smart enough to make up for that lack of speed, i think he was a couple notches slower than hodgson even
it is a bit blurry now, its been a while but thats what i remember

Watching a couple of Islanders games, Grabs definitively has enough smarts I'd say. But he's been floating way too much, now that he's got $15 million in the bank and playing in a losing team.
