Teachings to young hockey players back then vs. now

The game has evolved somewhat from the 50s to what it is now.

im not that old nor am i associated at any minor hockey levels, so i have no knowledge of this topic that im bringing up.

But just out of curiosity. What were some fundamentals that were taught to the kids that were serious about taking their game to the next level VERSUS what has been taught in the past 5-6 years.

I bring this up, because today's game feels so much more robotic.

Do you agree or disagree
