I still can't believe Yandle wasn't in the lineup in the first place.

The draft should be fun to watch. Can't wait to see who goes last.

Funny enough, I'm looking forward to the draft the most, then the skills competition and then the game itself.

Two questions I keep hearing are;

1. Will Staal pick Ward as his first pick?

2. Will the Sedins be split up?

Honestly, who cares? Let's just have fun!

Don't the goalies have to all be picked before a particular round?

All-Star Draft will be available online on this stream.

I will add streams for every events to the OP so they're easier to find.

Bah, all sorts of talk about how the teams are already picked/fixed. Sounds like the Sedin's might be saved for the last 2 picks so no one's ego is bruised.

IMHO, they shouldn't have made players the captains. Too many alliances, pressures, from their peers. These guys don't want to upset a teammate/friend etc.

They should have 2 fans as captains. The NHL could easily hold some sort of (corporate sponsored) contest during the 1st half of the season.. .base it on NHL knowledge, maybe some sort of Trivia or Jeopardy like thing so we don't get 2 hockey-clueless morons as captains.

I'm just worried this draft tonight is going to be a farce.

Also, can they make any trades? That would be kinda neat...

Both can't be picked last.

Anyways, either Backes, Elias or Kessel will be picked last.

That's a good idea, have the winners of some on-line fantasy league get to pick the players, it will be unbiased and no ones feeling will be hurt except of course the guy that gets picked last. You could also draw the last few guys names out of a hat to avoid that as well.

Which will be a mistake. Once Staal picks him, he'll have a big weakness at the centre position. No big centres, equals no good scoring chances. Staal's team will lose for sure, and we'll all be talking about it until the next All Star game.

Come to think of it, I'm predicting Lidstrom's team wins 12-0.

@Matt9Duchene
Just found out last pick gets a car... I've swallowed my pride and am now welcoming the last pick haha

If this is for real, they couldn't come up with a bigger consolation prize?

Yup,

Its more like the "good players" game.

Stars are hard to find these days.

You wouldn't know Price was taking part if you're watching TSN. No mention of him, and he's not even really in the promos

NHL website has a stream going (pre-draft show). It seems they'll show the actual draft too. Excellent quality for those of us who can't watch it on tv
