GDT: All Star weekend

Fantasy draft is tonight and Mike Green will be making some picks. Should be fun to watch this. I could see OV falling some in the draft but might get picked at the top due to past seasons

figured we could use a thread for all the weekend AS chatter

Anyone else hoping Ovy goes last, or at the very least, late as hell in the draft? I think a smack in the mouth like that might be just what he needs. I'm willing to try anything at this point.

I'm interested to watch OVs shot in the game. I know the defense will be lax, but if he starts ripping off some hard accurate shots like he used to then it will be telling.

He won't.

Besides, if Caps are so inept/hands-off that the only thing that motivates Ovechkin to earn his contract is a slight public diss then they are screwed top to bottom.

I would like to know how McPhee feels about Ovechkin's new training regimen. Or whatever the **** Backstrom did in the offseason for that matter.

I think Ovy's got a world class ego...and that's no slight, just an opinion. I think a snub might be a good kick in the pants.

Being in a skills competition aka the ASG should help test out the injury cough conspiracy theory about why he fumbles pucks this year; can't shoot right.

I am glad I am not the only one that thought about him getting picked last.

After Montreal and Vancouver last year, and his performance so far this year, I think he's had plenty of kicks in the pants.

I'd rather Ovie not go, honestly. He's the first guy I'd want to have a solid 4 days of rest.

Most likely places to find information are on www.nhl.com and on the Carolina Hurricanes website.

As to the streaming, see above post and other regular streaming sites.

I have to admit, I find this draft stuff more entertaining than a typical ASG. Then again, I'd be fine if all-star weekend was only the skills event and didn't include a game, since it's not exactly a game.

Like others, I'd be fine if Ovechkin and Green were resting instead, but Ovechkin seems to enjoy these events.

My feelings are similar. The ASG, by definition, is ridiculous, but this adds a bit of manufactured interest.

I am reminded of how accent-free Lidstrom's English is.

Kessel just screams last pick. If it doesn't happen it's out of pity.

Apparently last overall gets a car, so I can see Kessel getting 2nd to last for that alone.

Plus, Backes is in there as well.

The question is if the car to last player picked is true, who do they want to give a car to tonight? Did they confirm if that is true?

Green looks as engaged as always

OT: I hadn't looked at any of the stuff before now, so first time seeing the jerseys...I like the Blue but the lines on the sleeves are a bit odd...

Kesler takes Daniel Sedin.

St. Louis takes Henrik

That's cool. Freaks.
