8 year old learning to accelerate while skating

does a child have to be thaught running on his first steps or will they pick it up on their own??

are you training a sprinter or what?


'running on first steps' doesn't really seem like a hockey thing to me.

i mean, just watch the skills comp from tonight with the fastest skater. there's no 'running on the ice'. those first strides are powerful skating strides. quicker, yes. but not really anything like 'running'.
