With two different threads, it's probably time to actually have a thread for the all-star game itself. Both Havlat and Burns are on Team Lidstrom, along with four of the five players with Minnesota ties. I guess that means most of us are cheering for them but at the very least there will be goals and lots of them.

I will be working from 3:45-10, so no ASG for me. I don't really care who wins either, to be honest. The only part of this weekend I wanted to watch was the skills competition. I just hope Burns and Havlat don't get injured.

I bet so many people in Boston became nervous wrecks when Thomas started his little tumble last night

It was pretty entertaining, and good he didn't get hurt. Really though, I was pretty surprised he recovered so fast.

Havlat's performance was a bit disappointing, but Burns looked pretty good.

Let's just say the city of Boston breathed a huge sigh of relief.

I don't know I kinda liked the pond hockey thing. Don't know the relevance of Francis and Brind'Amour (other than being Carolina greats), but it was kinda cool.

That's not how we pick teams in pond hockey.

Skinner is like the second coming of Crosby to 'Canes fans.

Throw sticks into a pile and then one person pulls their hat over their eyes and starts throwing them into two piles.

Between Clay Aiken and Switchfoot, I'm pretty sure the NHL is bringing the best of 2004 in terms of music.

I can stand to listen to Switchfoot though, that's the difference.
