One only need to consider the safety of current helmets. Erica Lindros considered LI over Quebec.

Well, we do have Roy Rogers out in Shirley.....well, we did. He's retired now that that one closed down.

Stop stealing my "A" list material. And don't call anyone Shirley. RIP Leslie.

NYI will close on LI just like Roy closed. They're headed to Queens baby. Queens. LI can't handle it. Then real players will come. It's our ONLY hope. Learn it, live it, love it -

TIME TO MOVE ON

The article worried, as many Islanders fans do, that the team may one day leave Long Island. .....Who cares if the Islanders stay on Long Island?

Every time we have this discussion, where we consider the Islanders leaving Long Island, I am blown away by the parade of fans and writers waxing poetic about staying in Hempstead. Do yourselves a favor folks, read an economics book, wake up, and smell the 21st century...... it’s time for all of us to face the reality of modern day sports. If you’re a real fan that actually wants the Islanders to be good again in your lifetime, you should be saying your prayers every night that the team packs up and moves into the city.

It’s a sad reality, but tiny local franchises that serve a small community just can’t survive in today’s big money corporate sports world. The Islanders celebrate their efforts to attract corporate sponsors like… Bethpage Federal Credit Union. .....You ever hear of a little company called American Express? Yea, they sponsor the Rangers. There is just no way the Islanders can survive as a franchise, let alone compete, if they don’t have access to the same kind of revenues other big time modern sports franchises do.

It’s time to cut the cord...in this economic climate, no local municipality is building them a new anything. So it’s time to stop complaining and hoping the Islanders stay in little suburban Hempstead, NY. In order for this team to ever attain its former glory they need to pack up, move west to Queens, and embrace the fact they’re called the NEW YORK Islanders.

Why doesn't Howard Stern buy NYI? He's a local yokel. Isn't BA BA BOOEY a NYI fan?

Next to McDonald's on Hemp Tpke they could put a Snapple store. Maybe Howard can team up with N Peltz? That could be the only thing that keeps NYI on Kate's Mayberry LI. If that doesn't happen then Queens baby is our only hope to get some bona fide players here!! Ya gotta know.

If we're gonna put the team in the hands of a radio personality I'd rather it be Opie. At least he's a Islander fan and then he wouldn't have to buy season tickets just to throw in the river. We can even make Jim Norton the new Mascot.

I'd dig Stern owning the Islanders. Betcha Howard & Garth could throw a mean "Miller Lite & drunk blonde brigade" party.

Where did that original photo come from, anyway....when he was a Flyer?

Opie can't afford it. Although the irony of LI being Mayberry RFD with Opie is too much. Right OTH Chuckles? Howard is the money man. FA FA FOOEY!!

Butt bongo fiesta with the Ice Girls would be incredible! Garth would finally win.
