I was going through the per game stats on nhl.com and noticed that a PPG player is becoming more and more rare.
From my count, only 10 players are at the 1.00 PPG clip so far this year:
M. St Louis
and the Cyborg they call Teemu Selanne
Granted, a bunch of players are between .90 and .95 ... but they still don't make the cut.
Last year, 22 players finished with a 1.00 or higher PPG stat. In 2009, it was also 22 players.
I understand that 20 games still remain, however, it feels like scoring is generally starting to become spread out within teams, with very few exceptions (Vancouver, Tampa, Pittsburgh, Anahiem this year).
