I'm not a fan. I guess I'm in the minority but I honestly liked the Bolts ones. This is a lot like a superhero logo and not in a good way. It reminds me of something a knock off Stamkos action figure would be wearing. No real imagination used. Really worn out format on the shoulder - the team seal in a big circle with the the text wrapping around just like Florida, Pitt, Columbus etc. and a lackluster logo on the front. Meh.
The lightning seem like a real easy team to design for and being a team very much on the rise they should have a jersey that represents them in a more specific way. These teams need to do a tiny bit of research and seek out today's best graphic designers. I'm sure they have the money to pay them.
Same thing really, if that's where you want to go with it. I would have rather kept black and silver myself, but I missed the part where the Leafs owned those two colors and nobody else could use them.
I agree with the comments saying that it looks very amateur. Perhaps even more so, the whole thing looks more like a template than a finished version. There are a lot of things about the logo and uniform that I'm unhappy about, but mostly the fact that it looks so unfinished and lacks detail.
The funny thing, even as much as I dislike it, it can so easily be rectified to look better. These are really just rough mock-ups, but the simple addition of a little detail and returning black to the logo and uniform helps tenfold:
Tampa really dropped the ball on this one. Instead of giving fans a design that could stand on its own, embracing the past while updating the look for the future, they decided to simply throw away everything that made the Lightning's uniforms unique for a copy-and-paste clipart design that's bland and uninspired.
These would be really sharp! Fans should start making the jerseys, these RBK one have become terrible looking IMO.
