He just rubs me the wrong way. Didn't like him as an Islander either.

Classic example of how great goaltending makes the defense better rather than the other way around.

If Holmgren really was a genius he would have been ours as far back as last February, and we would have won the Stanley Cup.

Good plan, except Bad Company 2...there's something delicious about running over people, or blowing up the buildings people hide in

I've never hated on him. I thought more highly of him in NY then most people did. I'm still not convinced that he's a good option to be a full-time starter over the course of a season though.

I'm not convinced he can hold up for the rest of the season and playoffs. We will see.

You stated in this thread that since we are playing Roloson it was an easy win.

I am not saying he can play 80 games in a row or anything, but he is still good when he isn't tired out

perhaps, but I'm not convinced either of the Flyers goaltenders will either but that's an easy pill to swallow at this point

I saw the first few minutes of the game, and then couldn't see the rest. I think I'm glad.

a) What is it with Florida teams, that the Flyers have such a difficult time with them?

b) Once again, ex-Flyers kill em.

c) Can we PLEASE stop posting that we hope Bob/Boucher get a shutout early in the GDT thread?

Ah well, time to regroup (again) and come out strong on Thursday.

What is annoying is Tocchet saying he doesn't think that Tampa has anything over on the Flyers as far as matching up..that they just happened to run into them at inopportune times. I don't buy it and especially tonight's game. I think their coach has a good system we don't do well against hence why the games have been so screwed up. We are totally out of our element with them and they had a break just like us and pounced on us due to bad turnovers and that was it.....

I've often wondered if Pronger and Rollie didn't have some friction when Pronger requested his trade. That's pure speculation on my part, but I was absolutely sure he was coming to Philly last year.

With the two vets going to a final together you'd think reuniting them would've been a match made in heaven for a team with the goaltending woes we had last year. One would have to assume that they at least asked Chris' opinion on whether or not Rollie could be the answer. They definitely had me scratching my head when they didn't acquire him.

Question, wasn't it Nitty who used to stone Tampa, when he was with us? I forget.

Could be. I'd probably hate a few different other athletes if I was a pro too.

Nitty absolutely owned Atlanta and Biron was Islander kryptonite. Not sure about TBay.

For sure, not to mention it is Pronger and that Edmonton divorce was a tad messy.

Ahh, you're correct.

I get those southern teams mixed up.

Not sure why he would, those two were the two singular reasons they were 1 win away from winning the Cup with the Oilers.
