The french guy has the job.

Who else? Michaud, Fichaud, Damphousse? Yann Danis some of you might say? Gainey got Huet for the backup role because none of these other goaltenders are capable or ready for the NHL yet.

No need to rush Danis into the NHL. I don't think we have Huet here except to be the backup, which I'm pretty sure he'll have, unless one of the others knocks the ball outta the park at training camp.

I'm actually pretty excited about Huet. Seems like a good guy with some skills and could surprise us!

If you're asking this question, it's probably because you don't know much about Huet. Two years ago, he was recalled and was solid after Félix Potvin went down with an injury proving he could play steadily when the pressure is on him and we all know how much pressure there is in our beautiful Montreal. He played in 41 games this year and had comparable statistics to LA's number one goaltender Roman Checkmanek. While it may doesn't mean much for some, I think he played adequately in every situation he has been placed in. If Theodore gets hurt, I feel comfortable with Huet and while he may not have Garon's upside, Huet is a very good backup who's still improving and I think the fans will love him, maybe not as much as Garon, though.

Huet will be without the shadow of a doubt our backup for next season.

No need for the name calling here.

Huet no dought, he's more than capable, he played in half of LA's games last year, didn't have excellent stats but that was apparently because when he's overplayed he gets sloppy, but he definetly won't be overplayed in Montreal with Theodore as the number 1 so when he does get the chance to play he should be very focused and I think he will play quite well for us when given the task and be a great back-up goaltender.

Huet, no doubt. Don't forget that this guy started playing real competitive hockey at the age of 20 years old. Plus, he learned a lot the last seasons with François Allaire.

I believe he'll accept his role as a 2nd string much easier than any other, because hey! He's playing for the mythical Tricolore. THE professionnal hockey team that hockey fans in France know.

I saw a couple of games of LA last season and he was adequate. Don't forget that he had trouble at the end of the season, just like the rest of the team, because of fatigue, mostly. He had never played such a big role with a north american team before.

Let's see how well Danis does as the #1 in the AHL before we can consider him a legit #2 already.

Huet was a part of the deal because Montreal had to make sure the had insurance to Theo to make such a trade with Garon leaving the team. If we couldn't have gotten a legit #2 we would of never made this deal.

Huet is the backup without a doubt.
