Come on we have to atleast get a point out of this game....Crsby and Malkin are out again! I said this last game against them however and we all know how that ended.

Come on DP!

Possible pep talk before the game for the team:

"We won yesterday, if we win one today that's what people call a winning streak....It has been done before" - Cappy....I mean Lou Brown

Staal is out for sure.. so all 4 of our top centers are gone. Heres hoping for a close game with no injuries or suspensions.

We have four of our regular centers out for this game. Sid, Geno, Staal, and Letestu all not playing.

I think in the pre game last night, Carlin said Wishart might make his debut tonight.

I believe Staal is allowed to play. NHL passed on any supplementary discipline so his match penalty is as far as it goes.

Just to be clear on Jordan Staal, no supplementary discipline means he plays in next game for PIT. His penalty was missing end of NYR game.
Even hearing Malkin might play, but not a definite yet.

It would be nice if the league/TSN/whatever news outlet would get their friggin' story correct. The first update made it sound like Staal would serve the automatic game (vs. the Isles), but no further discipline would be tacked on. Now it's sounding like he's not even suspended for one game.

Damn I was hoping it would have snowed/iced a little more so work would be canceled today so I could stay home and watch the game... I'll have to settle for just no school. Lets go islanders!

I hope DP has a solid game.
We can win this.
Pens will still have their defense intact. I want to see Bailey contribute something.

I'd like to see Bailey and Nielsen flipped.

Excuses, excuses. The Pens can just call up any available replacement from the farm team and have no impact on the NHL performance. This is what the Islanders do after all.

Should be a good game tonight as the Isles seem to get up for these games.

I understand that we all want Bailey to be better than he is right now but I think the Grabner-Neilson-Okposo line has been playing great snce Okposo was added. I'll have to respectfully disagree.

I agree. That is the one line that doesnt make me **** my pants in the defensive zone. Theyre also our fastest line hands down. They are able to generate offense so idk why you would split them up. Especially after they produced a nice goal last night.

Also, please keep Grabs-Nielsen-Okposo together as they have been doing well.

If you haven't seen, Frans was voted by players as 2nd most underrated in the league:

I don't like that move...and why not play Wishart? He is worse than our worst? Or because they won last night they dont want to change anything?

Should have kept Poulin in too. I really don't feel comfortable watching Ricky anymore and I don't think the team has much confidence in front of him either.

Normally I wouldnt try to fix whats not broken, but the season is all but over. The Isles need to get Bailey going. Grabner is the hottest player on the team right now and KO last night looked like he was in midseason form. Putting Bailey between those guys might be able to light a fire under his ass. Bailey was flat out dominant to start the season and since his injury he hasnt been the same.

I'm not knocking Nielsen, i actually think Nielsen might make Comeau and Colliton/his other winger much better as well giving the Isles three good lines. Both Nielsen and Grabner both have speed to create space for other players. I just think its worth a shot.

DP played last time the Isles/Pens played, didn't he? The game the Isles won in a shootout?

Don't worry, even if he's in nets the Pens have this habit of making struggling goalies/backup goalies look like Vezina-candidates. It's one of those side effects of not having much overall skill, and thus most of the shots are aimed right at the logo on the front of the opposing goalie's jersey.
