I don't think he is related to Alexei Semenov. This is a talented player though. Even though he is an overager, RussianProspects had him ranked 31st amongst the Russians, which put him in about the 8th round, so he actually got picked a bit early. He had a great season with Lada Togliatti - broke out this year and took over a spot in the club's lineup.
