Arnott to Pittsburgh

Unlikely trading partners, but with Malkin out, they need a 2nd line C, I think Arnott would be a good fit for them. Unless Jordan Staal is going to be line 2 C?

I think Staal can handle it. We'll have to wait and see if Shero agrees though.

Staal will be fine. I guess it's not out of the realm of possibility that Shero could acquire a center but I think he will just look to upgrade the team in whatever way possible.

Well who knows when Crosby will be back and Letestu is out too, so as it stands Staal is the only one around at C for Pittsburgh.

Short-term, Dustin Jeffrey has actually looked good filling in on a line with Kunitz and Dupuis. Obviously long-term and going into the playoffs you don't want to rely on a rookie call-up to be one of your top two centers, but for now there's no need for Shero to panic.

Crosby - Staal - Jeffrey/Letestu should be the line-up for the playoffs.

Pens shouldn't make a desperation trade for a center IMO, stay the course and target a handful of wingers. Sid and Staal can carry the load but they need more support on the wings now.

Of course, we don't know when Sid will be back, if at all. In the scenario with him out for a substantial amount of time or the rest of the year, I think you just call it a season really because there's no way the Pens could add enough firepower without drastically altering the future of the team.
