Wow, I make it home at the end of the first period and I see everything has gone to hell.

One of the worst periods in Stars history?

Avery's presence still being felt to this day.

That was sort of a 20 minute infomercial for why Fistric is so critical to this team's success. Without him in the lineup it seems as though Grossman feels the need to fill that physical void and he starts running around and getting off his strong positional game. It doesn't help that his partner totally lost his mind, either. Then of course there's the collateral damage that ensues from either Niskanen or Woywitka having to play...

Whoa, I just saw the score. Glad I have class tonight. The Dallas Stars hate February.

We've been blown out by Detroit, also.

It's unfortunate that they decided to bring the cursed DALLAS whites on this trip.

Stars give up another goal, Sutherby with just atrocious defense, refs bail them out. Goal should've clearly stood.

Langenbrunner flubs Richards' promising setup. PP again does nothing.

Nah, the overhead showed pretty clear non-penalty GI (though not particularly serious). Wheeler bumped Lehtonen in the crease and made no effort to avoid him just prior to the shot. Being backed in is not an excuse to bump into the goalie - you must at least make an effort to avoid him if he's in his crease.

It's immaterial where they were when the goal was scored because it's a part of the same play where Wheeler bumped Lehtonen in the crease.

The rule is fairly inconsistently applied, but it is indeed the rule.

That's not what happened. Wheeler did nothing wrong.

If you think that, then you didn't watch the overhead replay or you don't know the rules.

Barch to the hospital to check for a corneal scratch, apparently.

I did see the overhead replay and I do know the rules.

You're just wrong, as usual.

Good news with Barch, hopefully he'll be out for a while again.

Nice rush by Burish to push the tempo, dishes to Skrastins who scores. He's probably the one guy who's actually absorbed what the coaching staff wants the D to do as far as stepping up into the play at advantageous times. And he'll be gone next year.

Uber-spare Paille takes a blindside run on Sawada. Would probably be a suspension if it was another team.
