Oreskovich is back and has assists on both of Salo's goals.

S. Salo (1) from V. Oreskovich, J. Schroeder 1st period 6:18

S. Salo (2) from V. Oreskovich, B. Sweatt on the PP 2nd period 9:56

Salo is even having been on the ice for the W-B/Scranton ES goal.

Looks like it was Connauton paired with Salo on the PP, too. Hopefully Salo can impart some of his vast experience and knowledge to the younger D while he's down with the Moose.

And I just RAGED when I heard Boulerice's name on the Pens' roster

Salo's being paired with Ramsey 5-on-5 btw, 3-2 Moose now in the third.

Moose win 3-2 beat the league leading Penguins. Eddie Lack stops 42 shots and Sami gets 2.Oreskovich had a pretty good game by the sounds of it as well.

Sami Salo has played for some pretty poor teams over his 11 year career and hasn't been a minus player once. I'm still baffled when people say this guy isn't very good...

If Salo returns from this injury and remains healthy for the rest of the season and wants to play again next year I would love to see him back on a 1 year deal. Assuming he's on a more cap friendly contract he's still an excellent bottom pairing dman when you look at the Canucks depth in the organization.

For the love of all things good and fair in this world just let Salo be healthy for the playoffs. This guys deserves to finally catch a break.

Just watched the highlights on Global News, Sami Salo still has one of the most hardest, accurate shots.

Well you don't really lose a shot like that, look at MacInnis and Iafrate, I bet both of them could still wire it.

Way to go Sami, now don't get bitten by some random animal in any of the road games you're on...

Don't know if you could really say Salo has an accurate shot - there was a time there when he barely ever unloaded cause most his shots were going at people's heads.

But Dave Tomlinson "Former NHLer" said the "boom" was gone from his shot.

Tomlinson should know - he played 42 NHL games in his stellar career with 1G 3A 4Pts,

When I was 12 years old, my family went to Disneyland and Universal Studios. On the Universal Studios tour, I got chosen from the audience to film a faked up sequence from "The 6 Million Dollar Man" - okay, I'm dating myself. I had to run across the stage in slow motion (with a blue screen behind me), grab a stationary street car and bring it to a "stop".

I guess I could now describe myself as a former child actor.

I think it differs in that you said you wouldn't be surprised that he would never play another game this year. I would be. At the beginning of the season, i would have been shocked if he wasn't in our line up before the playoffs start. I was projecting right after the xmas break because that is the average recovery time for this injury. A little early, but its surely not never.

To think he would not step on the ice again (what some ppl proposed, not saying you specifically) is what i thought was absurd. There were some people saying this was the end of his career, he'd be lucky to ever play again so he should just retire. But the fact is players recover from this injury. Justin Williams returned to play from this. Hasn't missed a game as a result of this injury since the recovery process. Yes, he broke his leg, but that was unrelated. He has played every game this season. Markov has his tendons sliced by Price, had the surgery and came back to play the remainder of the season at a very high and successful level, only to have his knees blown out. Again an unrelated injury.

I think its not only due to the recovery process, but i believe Salo thinks this is probably his last legitimate shot at the cup. 2 years ago, there was a video interview with Salo about the playoffs and how much he wanted it before he retired. I think he realizes this is the best team we've probably iced since he's been here and he wants to come back. He dutifully went through the recovery, safely and cautiously. I am glad. A healthy Salo is a very good defender and a playoff warrior. Never again will we see a guy with one ball playing only because he was injected with loads of morphine.

I was coming on here to say the same thing. A lot of these analysts seem to think they're experts when it comes to the players. It's no different than fans watching 82 games a year. Unless you've played the game or have personal knowledge (Salo stating that he feels weaker), it's foolish to say that.
