No. And Weiss has a NTC, he's probably staying put.

Weiss's value to Florida is about what Krejci's value is to Boston.

whats his value?
hes a 25 goal scorer, 40+ assists so 1st rnd pick, good current player, top prospect?

Don't bother. They're just too far off to begin with.

When drawing up a proposal for a teams best forward (that's signed to a very nice contract) it's best to offer them at least one decent roster player.

Stuart is "okay". Not anything close to what Florida would want for Weiss. And Lehtonen sucks.

Try:

Wheeler, Spooner, 1st.

Think to yourself; What would I ask for if a team called about acquiring Plekanec?

I'm guessing 2 roster forwards(good ones) and a top prospect/top draft pick. Then again, Montreal just might want to keep their #1 center...like Florida

Toronto first I assume?

Cause the other two pieces are garbage.

Garbage? Nah. Spooner is a talented offensive prospect, and Wheeler is a 2nd/3rd line winger. Not the best, but not awful.

And yeah, it would be. Which Boston wouldn't do, so therefore, no Weiss.

If Florida trades Weiss they will be looking for a good C prospect, and a pick coming back - Stuart is a defensive UFA to be (no value to a rebuilding team) Bost #1 is a start, and Lehtonen is not a very good prospect anymore so has basically no value. Think Colbourne and Bostons 1st.

From Montreal they would be looking for Eller and Montreal 1st - would be my guess, Moen and Pyatt are 4th line grinders - players like that are available every year in UFA for close to league minimum.

You're right, not garbage, but two players that Panthers have little interest in. Wheeler, an UFA, will probably bolt after the season and Spooner is a small player. Nothing wrong with that, but Tallon wants bigger physical players, which Wheeler and Spooner are not.

lol. Wheelers a RFA not a ufa. But either way there is no way boston trades TO's pick. and if thats what it would take its not worth talking about. Besides not a boston need. So thanks but no thanks.

I stand corrected. Quickly looked over the nhlnumbers site and mistaked Recchi's FA status for Wheeler's FA status.

The Toronto first would be an overpayment for Weiss, unless they finish around 9-10 in the standings.
