I think that's where you have to give Gainey and Martin credit. This team is built to handle adversity. In years past...the team would crumble the minute a key player went down. A lot of character in that locker room...and Martin's system helps in that respect.

I think it also helps that we get used to playing with non goal scorers, so when he comes back he can thread the needle, like the Max chance in the second from AK, he has to score that, but didn't get it the way he wanted on his stick. I like this team, always room for improvement. But everytime we are on a winning streak I like this team

And that was clearly exemplified last year in the playoffs. Down 3-1 in the series against the Caps, losing Markov in the first game against the Pens. These guys never gave up and came back to win both series'.

After last season, I wouldn't want to face the Habs in a Game 7.

Yeah, I'd take Pleks over Gabo too.

I think this win was a dominating 4 line defensive effort. Jacques martin's ears must have been wiggling all game long. The Rangers had no room at all, they played a similar game to us but being a little biased I thought our guys were better and our speed was the difference.

So in Brunet rational mind, don't look both way before crossing the street because a car might hit you from in front. Sigh why can't he just say he should of kept his head up, but Sauer had no right to hit him that high...

Anyone think anything will happen to Boyle on the Spacek hit. To me that was ALL ELBOW to his head... Don't know what the refs saw...

He got back to normal after one freakish (both in terms of weird goals he gave up and in that he got no offensive support) year. Did you pay attention to his Calder Cup or to his play in the world juniors? He dragged teams that should not have been competitive to titles.

Geez that sounds shrill.

Don't post drunk, don't post drunk. Sigh....

So... since I started posting the respective team's Guardians in the GTD, we are 3-0..

Do I keep at it?

I'd be happy with the whole deal if we had given up say, Carle, instead of McDonagh. Gomez may not be worth his salary but if he helped Gainey get the other guys he signed I can ignore his salary. If McDondagh becomes a star (or even a serious #3) it is going to be tough... And Pyatt, though he is Martin's ideal player, is more a negative than a positive for the trade (fine defensive player but he gets too much ice time considering his total lack of offensive aptitude).

Boyle should get suspended for his elbow to Spacek's head. Exactly the type of thing we want out of the game.

Let me do my impression of a stats nerd (there are some of them here on HF) who like to pick and choose stats to prove a point:

Dion Phaneuf: 1 goal, -6
Tomas Kaberle: 2 goals, -5

Picard: 3 goals, +2

Picard >>> Phaneuf + Kaberle

I may have missed it here but did anyone just hear what they said on CBC in regards to when a reporter asked Price about Avery and Prust being in his face all day? Price's comment.. " I'm not worried about 2 players running around looking like donkey's"..

CBC just announced the game at 3 today. The game time shouldn't be changed.

He's done for the season. I think he is questionable for the start of training camp nevermind the playoffs.
