not the end of the world, but clark did have his earn nearly removed when ovechkin clocked him. here's hoping its some stitches and no concussion or surgery required.

Perreault is playing better. Time to trade him.

Really we need a cup and Perreault needs some stability and a little less stress than BB+Capitals+playoffs.

I'm watching this game at a bar in Pittsburgh and some 60 year old broad just blurted out "I hope they bring a body bag out!" as they showed Green bent over with blood pouring on the ice. Stay classy pens fans

My take as well. 'Oh crap... but there should be no orbital bone or related issues since it was flush to the side of the helmet.' Just a lot pain and a lot of stitches, unless there's any concussion as a result. Looked to be about the best case scenario, if you can put it that way, for a shot to the head.

btw...anyone notice that the caps can't maintain a forecheck? its gonna be trouble for the caps. the pens move the puck out of their zone the fastest in the nhl. caps are doomed.

@TarikElBashir: Alexander Semin just told me in the pressbox that he hopes to play Tuesday vs. San Jose.

Indeed!

Very hard for you to admit though that MP was instrumental to that goal....you will eat crow......

yer boy 85's problem is not his ability to make a play. its making a play on a consistant basis.

Tarik out scooping Katie when he's not even on the beat.

haha.

Best thing about Green's deal is he plays that play the right way. He turns his head. Saves his eye/face/nose easy. If you're going to block a shot, turn your head at the last second.

Funny that you say this now that MP's coming puts a little bit of life on that line and brings it out of the respirator....

If I was you, I would worry about losing Perreault....he is part of the solution to your 2nd line, not part of the problem...

But these trips up and down are no good for the confidence of a young player...
And a little bit of stability right here in Washington could do marvels for the WHOLE team...

if trips up and down were the problem, why is it that he plays like garbage EXCEPT when he goes up or down? He gets sent down over the all-star break, wow, he wakes back up? The anecdotal evidence completely disproves your hypothesis.

I don't give a crap whether Perreault makes it or not, but it really is idiotic to expect consistency from any rookie. I don't understand why this mantra has taken such a hold here.

Got to love the announcers loving on the Penguins this period especially since the Caps led the period in all statistical categories...not that it really matters but still.

There is also an element of stability part of the equation of consistency...

Funny how 1st and 2nd round picks are allowed all the seasoning they need and how a 5th round pick is kicked out like a trash can on every occasion.

MP was worth a 1st-2nd round pick from the start and I always maintained he was a steal for you guys....give him a little time to gain confidence and show his stuff...
Furthermore put him with regular linemates...
If it is the 2nd line, then have him on a consistent basis with Semin and Laich and look out!

Well , that you care to admit it or not, this is the 3rd game in a row where MP is part of the scoring....on all goals scored by the 2nd line....

Hey if you can't do the time than don't do the crime. I'm assuming of course that you are in Pittsburgh and for that matter that bar due to a court order. Otherwise you have no other excuse.
